Looking for some advice from other 2025 Land Cruiser owners.

Nice truck, horrible mpg. My guess is that it just needs an mpg reset. These cars sit a lot with the engine running before it gets to your hands. And who knows how much the previous owner idled.

4 cylinder getting bad mpg with 35” mud terrains is not a surprise.

Looks great, in addition to what others have stated the poke of the tires is a MPG killer, anything handing outside the fenders has a significant impact on mileage. The weight of the tire and wheel package is also important, anything above 77 lbs./wheel & tire is heavier than OEM and in addition to increased diameter, width, poke and the under reporting ODO are all contributing factors.

I hope it is not destroyed.

I'm surprised there wasn't a lot of bind up. When the light was out on the center diff lock of my 80 it took a very shot time to realized it was locked.

In future, liftedtrucks.com probably isn’t the best place to go shopping for a fuel efficient vehicle, and more research on the vehicle you’re buying is also advised. Land Cruisers aren’t fuel efficient vehicles.

I’d be worried about the damage from driving from Arizona to California on the highway with the diff locked.

Truck looks sick (in a good way) and congrats
If you want better MPG I would start by removing the roof rack and buying a lighter set of wheels (in the 28-32lb range) with +40 offset then going down to 34-33” tires

Apologies for the laughing emoji

Seems the 80 series front ring/pinions are being destroyed by this, it’s actually the viscous couplers going bad after 25 years. Slowly eats away. This is why I went part time (although full time is way cooler)

I dont drive much on the highway, since I mostly work from home, but actually had to drive around 150 miles (85 percent highway about 15 percent city) . Highway speed was around 60ish. stock 20" tires and everything stock (38 psi).
I was actually surprised to see that it only took 6.22 gal to fill the tank up again.
My to date average is 21.6

True, true and true.

I am a little amazed that a full time 4wd vehicle weighing 5445 lbs (out of the showroom) returns the fuel mileage it does, but is no Prius.

OP is probably never returning here under original username after this.
OP never returned after posting this thread. Not super high profile, but her username and picture are familiar to me since my wife is subscribed to her YT channel on our account. Kettlebells were never my thing, but I have a good assortment in my garage haha. My point being, OP’s one of the few profiles that directly ties to their actual person, so it would be interesting to abandon.

OP may be eligible for witsec after this post.

(OP if you do ever actually see this, know I’m just friendly teasing. We all do stupid things and it’s a fast way to learn.)

I was very careful to just state my observation without any judgement or snide remarks. We all start somewhere and would still be there without others shared knowledge. I’m still surprised there wasn’t bond up and chirping tires.

You probably didn’t catch it, but this isn’t even the worst instance of learning the hard way on here. If you look through my post history you’ll see me start a thread on an NHTSA complaint IRT a failed suspension. I tried to be careful in calling out the inconsistencies, and that guy (temporarily) joined the forum to describe what had actually happened. A garbage dealership put a garbage rough country lift on a new LC, and the front coilover catastrophically failed.
The complaint owner was lawyered up and wisely deleted all images and comments, but that was rough.

I hope OP is not offended. I don't think anyone on here meant any harm. I was extremely clueless about most things 4WD when I came on here. I have learned a lot but still mostly clueless😂 and still learning.
I do hope she comes back on and updates us on the differential thing and if it harmed the truck (hopefully not), and other plans for her LC.
