Nearing 8k miles now and I just switched to try the eco mode last week, and I am happy to report that the super ridiculous 1st gear clunk/jolt you get after startup and going in gear seems to have gone away since I switched to eco. So that tells me Toyota needs to come out with a software fix for the normal mode. I haven’t tried with sport mode as of yet.
I’ve generally steered away from the eco mode settings in vehicles because it takes any fun out of the driving experience, but I’ve noticed in the LC that oddly enough the eco mode for me seems to be smoother on the throttle, have more torque, and seems to be smoother on the shifts.
Since we’ve owned the LC, our fuel economy has pretty much been pegged between 16.1-16.2 mpg, so time will tell if this mode helps any.
We’re still loving this thing. I absolutely love how practical it is!! The biggest thing I dislike
has to be the small fuel tank, but hey when there’s only 20-30 miles until empty and it’s my turn for errands, I always seem to be the one to fill it up and that earn extra points with the wife I suppose.
