Not yetSo, we still don’t know if swapping out a mtc button will work
The part number is matching up on paperwork and on the sticker on the wrapping of the part. These are the two part numbers I see, and it looks like what you ordered was the correct number, corresponding also to the higher price. Maybe they just sent the wrong part?

Hoping they'll do a return since that part number states more than one it has multi terrain select. The part number is matching up on paperwork and on the sticker on the wrapping of the part.
We’ll see what I hear from the dealer.

I checked and don’t see it. Could be because it’s an assembly of smaller parts.Any part numbers imprinted on the underside of the switch itself? Most parts have the part number physically on them.
It's listed under Mechanical/Performancehere Ryan says:Code:https://youtu.be/mzXoWfNUtrw?t=1245
I think it is the first time I hear/see/read about how the two compare to each otherBefore that my naive assumption was that 1958 and LCLC/LCFE have the same software. Here are the only difference I was able to find from the official Toyota site (no mentions of A-TRAC
):

Has anybody tested 1958/LCLC side by side offroad? Are you aware of any reviews testing this? What the differences (is one is faster than another, quieter, more precise, more reliable, more responsive?) I personally on my LCLC never used any fancy MTS settings, good old Auto was good enough for all the off-roading adventures I had. . . Now, my biggest question is whether MTS auto is any different from 1958's A-TRAC(???)? I'm a bit skeptical that Toyota is using the same software that previous gen of 4runner and other LCs. . .
I was considering to get 1958 or 4Runner SR5 (which seems to have the same software setup as 1958) as a second vehicle, would be interested in digging into more details before dumping a pile of cache on a new ride.

I disassembled my 1958 to take a look. You're correct, no obvious part numbers I could find. Looks like the circuit board inside the switch and the text on the center button (ECT 2nd/MTS) is the only thing that changes. Some small part assemblies only come as that and you won’t be able to purchase the individual parts that make them up. If that dealer gets back to me and asks for a vin, maybe a Land Cruiser trim can lend me their vin.

Disassembly steps:
** Caveat - not sure what the full part looks like. You may stop here if the part comes with the trim panel and dial/switches as one piece.
- Remove driver knee trim panel. 5 clip tabs aim into center dash, and 2 clip tabs aim forward to front of vehicle. Didn't use trim tools, hands only.
- Pry up on piano black shifter trim until it pops free. I didn't mess with the shifter removal. You can sneak the Multi Switch Dial Trim past it. Didn't use trim tools, hands only.
- Pull backward (away from front of vehicle) on the Multi Switch Dial Select full trim panel. It has three clip tabs aimed toward front of vehicle. Same thing - hands only.
- Disconnect the upper and lower wire harness going into the Multi Switch Dial Select.
- Remove 3 black Phillips head screws to separate the 3-switch assemble from the trim panel.
I went further and separated the 3-switch assembly to look for a part number. Removed the two silver Phillips head screws. Pried the 3 tabs on each side (6 total) to wiggle out the back cover where harness connects. After lifting off the back cover the circuit board is visible and can be lifted out. Circuit board is 75S468-008▢. It's also lead freeThese numbers are irrelevant to me, but documenting here either way.

When I get home I willWould you please post a picture of the part number on the Toyota packaging?
I’m surprised Toyota’s part catalog system has an error but I guess it’s possible. Or the dealer somehow botched it. I think you have plenty of runway to ask for a full refund. The part specifically states w/ MTS in the parts catalog.
