1958 vs LCLC off-road software (A-TRAC(?) vs MTS)

Alright everyone. I got Venmo set up. I think just pm me and I’ll send the Venmo info. I think it’ll be easier to track who was wanting to chip in.

I have also messaged each one of you that has posted interest. Anyone else interested just PM me.

Venmo temporarily froze my account but is now unfrozen. Turns out it looks suspicious when a new account is opened and some random people put money in it.
So now that it has been lifted, I just want to remind everyone that who wants to have participated. I know those of you who already chipped in as we have communicated.
However there are a couple of you I haven’t heard back from.

We are currently at $165.

I think the system on previous Tacoma had vacuum controlled breaks for a-trac and electronically controlled breaks for MTS. This was what prevented precise control of wheels in a-trac, which is needed for MTS. Not sure how it is set up on the LC trims, but it is something to consider.

I think you could post your Venmo QR code and folks can just donate. You can take it down when you've got enough to cover it?

I wonder how this would be able to work by just adding the button since you would have to select the different modes on the gauge cluster but the 1958 and LCLC have different clusters and different software for those clusters.

That's what I am wondering about as well, I wish I had the extra cash right now to throw towards this experiment and find out.

There are 250s with the small display and MTS in other markets.

In preparation can we get some links to take apart for panels? Want to make sure we’re putting together detailed steps for what pop rivets and clips to navigate and maintain.

@RobLS, Here is a video I found on youtube of somone taking apart the trim to get the MTS panel off. Looks like there are no tools involved. You may be able to just plug it in and check it out in a matter of about 5 minutes.....

2.58 is where he starts removing the panel, but I think he removes another couple before that to get to this one....

Trim removal is very easy and doesn't require any tools and I've done it two times already first time installing an aftermarket headunit and the second time installing auto-hold function always one/off module.
