Sorry I knew what you meant, when I said no ground strap/cable I meant not the traditional ground to the frame seen on most vehicles as you stated it still as a connection to the body via the ground cable. IIRC there are in excess of 151 ground points throughout the vehicle mostly internally on the body.
Everything essentially runs off the hybrid batteries either directly through the DC to DC convertor or indirectly Hybrid>DC to DC>BATT, except to power on the computers and the conventional starter motor.
Before I did my winching I wouldn't have thought the Traction Batteries would have been used to meet the demands of current draw on the 12V system. I haven't looked to see what the input voltage to the invertor is but would assume Toyota didn't design a different unit for Hybrid voltage supply and additionally that would add a lot of cost, complexity and risk. So that is where I'm basing the supplied AMPS of off 2400/14=~171 Amps, plus some additional current to supply the rest of the systems.
Just an FYI the conventional starter motor gets used everytime you shut the vehicle down and open the fuel door and then restart. So if in a Hybrid system malfunction situation this is a possible step to take to see if the ICE will start up from there and maybe the vehicle can be driven to safe location if needed?
From you original post don't wire anything running through the current sensor
