🛠️ What Have You Done To Your LC250 Today?

Armor LC ? ;)
Nah … It’s window grill / vent. The design is cool that matches the window molle panel. I use it as secured ventilation while park and lock my LC at work parking lot under super hot sun 🌞. (It has groove at bottom so that window can tuck inside, overlap and no gap)

It also can be used during rainy day, but want to have good ventilation. I know the window visor can do that job, but this works well for purpose above.
Inside, it has very fine metal mess to prevent bugs flying in

Anyway, it is cool design that I want to share with gang ;)
Happy LC to all

Those look pretty effective…did I miss the link for where you sourced these? 🤔

Yesterday, I put some used predator steps on Miss Daisy, in place of her OEM rock rails.

The predator steps are significantly lighter than the OEM rock rails, and I don’t expect them to offer any protection whatsoever to Miss Daisy if we get to go off-road.

Soon, I will install the rear Garmin dash cam, and the Redline hood lift struts..

All I can say is it has worked like magic for me. Absolute game changer when washing my 4 ft. motorhome. Pressure washer, foam cannon, lambs wool pad and rinse withe Simple Chuck system and I’m done in about an hour and half by myself. 40 ft. Long 12 ft. tall not bad.

I actually bought a cheaper one for $100 off Amazon that had good reviews. My water went from 144ppm to 20ppm. Nearly completely eliminated any water spots with a rinse after the wash. I was very impressed. The only downside is they recommend like a .2 GPM rinse for max effectiveness so it's kind of a pain. Worth it though and now I'm tempted to buy a more expensive one with a higher GPM allowance...

I don’t think they’re much more than about 200 lumens each, and all four total only pulling 7 watts. I just wanted lights that could be small enough to be hidden and when camping, just give a small amount of light for ambience and walking around the camp site. This micro LED's are the smallest I could find--> DuneGear

The angle of the rack prevents the use of so many 45 degree mounts that are available. The lights don't shine as downward as I would like, but give a nice diffuse flood to the area.

85mph interstate commute this morning and no extra noise or vibration from the rack or hidden wires... so far, so good.

Changed out the bolts to stainless steel (should've done that originally) and added some plastic "lenses" in front of the LED's to give it a more finished look and filter the lights to cast a wider floods...

She got some new shoes today. This is what the LC should look like coming from the factory.

Everybody keeps saying that about the tires, but I'm thinking deep down Toyota wouldn't want to waste money up front when they know we going to slap our personal preferences on the rigs regardless.

Installed the K&N intake great OEM+ upgrade.
I would strongly recommend against K&N air filters. They let a shit load of stuff into the engine, which I documented well on my ‘06 Avalanche via Blackstone oil analysis back then.

I wrote, and then called the company, presented them with the facts, and all the guy could say was, “This is a family owned business, blah blah blah..“ But he refused to answer the questions that I asked.

This was well argued over on ADVrider.com well over a decade ago, and most of the inmates decided against K&N. This probably wasn’t a big deal 40 -50 years ago when engines had huge tolerances. But now, with tight tolerances, and with MAF sensors and the like, you are just asking for trouble.

I did see previous post regarding issues on this. I do like how this system seems to be “double” filtered. Even the oem intake has no protection from environmental elements other than the fender liner. I’ll probably be ordering the snorkel from Toyota Australia.

I definitely don’t want to blow up the engine or push it to much but I do plan to see what potential it has. I even plan to tune the LC250 as soon as one is available.

And if you’re putting it in a very dirty application you’re going to want a bit more filtering. Hence why you also do more maintenance checks when a vehicle has been used off road.
I didn’t bother with a higher breathing air filter on my GS.
However on my RR I did change out the filter.

EscapeGear seat covers in “Dark Grey Tough Canvas” arrived today from South Africa.

Had these on other cars and they were brilliant - 60k miles and six years of daily driving with no wear and no visible wear to OEM seats/fabrics.

These have always been on my agenda. Not listed on the EscapeGear website yet but a couple of SA owners have been able to make special orders -BTW, The EuroSpec 2.8D Invincible is the same spec as the South Africa Prado 2.8GD VX-R

Photos to follow.

Evaluation out of 10 [after a hurried install]:

- Quality: 9

- Fit: 7.5 - more a reflection of the 250 design/complexity - EscapeGear have done a great job.

- Value for money: 8 - not cheap at £463 GBP [including P&P] but quality rarely comes cheap and the material is TOUGH!!

Suspect EscapeGear will refine the pattern in response to customer feedback.

Floormats also in the pipeline according to EscapeGear.

They don’t put tires like these on from the factory because it would kill their fuel efficiency ratings.
