🛠️ What Have You Done To Your LC250 Today?

New wheels showed up late last week. New shoes should be here on Monday! Had these exact wheels on my tacoma and never fell out of love with them. A little worried about the +25 offset but we shall see

Would very much love to know where you got this and the details of how you installed it!!
I ordered it off Amazon for $83, there were cheaper options but arb is a trusted brand so I'll pay extra for that peace of mind. It was fairly straightforward. I had to build a bracket to mount it in the engine bay but I just needed an m8 bolt, an L shaped bracket from the shelving section in Lowe's, a Dremel, a drill bit, and some black spray paint. Once I mounted the breather in the engine bay left hand side by the fuse box, I ran the hose along the frame utilizing empty wire clips and then left a good amount of hose for any articulation. I wanted to document the process but, I was working without a lift or a jack so the quarters were a bit tight for me haha. If you want to DM I can answer your questions all you want there.

new to the 4x4 world. What’s the point of it and why would you need one?

Added Kammok awning…side mount to keep it lower profile and not scrape in low parking garages. View attachment 36849View attachment 36850View attachment 36851View attachment 36852
We have the same one, the 7 footer. Super easy to deploy, and bit tricky sometimes to get back in. All in all, a great awning!!

The rear differential is vented on just the top of the differential and it's to bleed off any built up pressure from it getting hot while it's driving and whatnot. If you drive into deep enough water to submerge that vent, it COULD suck water in and the breather relocation kit is just to eliminate that possiblity.

You can check my build thread for details. You unplug a cable and then take out 6 bolts. The center top bolt has a slot and hole so you just loosen it, take out the rest, then grab the running board and slide it off the bolt. When it’s off, put all the bolts back in. There’s a cap you can put on the cables, I don’t know the Toyota part number, I bought them elsewhere. Then tape/cable tie them up out of the way.

I have the Greenlane sliders waiting to be installed. I’m trying to figure out some kind of entry/exit light to put under them and power with the cables for the running boards.
Im wanting to go with the Greenland sliders as well, in aluminum. How do you like them? And also, did you figure out a lighting/door illumination work-around for them?

I’ve been happy with them! I haven’t had time to mess with the lighting , I got a Toyota cable and some cheap LEDs but I still need a weekend when I’m not busy!

Just FYI the factory harness for the step lights doesn't provide a + DC Voltage and a ground so any light plugged into them will be dim. The OEM harness provided +12VDC on both wires when off and reduces to about +3VDC (IIRC) on the what would normally be the ground side.

I tapped into the dome light at the dome light and ran the wiring down through b pillar to under the drivers seat where there is a existing pass through and added the lux lighting magnetic led lights to mine. They function the same as OEM (approach, lock and unlock as long as the dome link to door light switch is on, only difference is you can turn them on with the dome light switch or prevent them from coming on by unlinking to dome light door open function which can be nice in certain situations where you don't want or need them to come on?

If you have aluminum sliders you'll have to with stick them on with 3M tape or bonding agent if you want them on the actual sliders, but you can also put them on the body out of sight and still get a nice throw to light to the ground.

Edited for error on voltage its a positive vice negative voltage on both sides

This is extremely helpful, thank you!!

Car camping this weekend with a possible rain showers. I already bought passenger window mesh cover covers. However, with the overnight rain that is forecasted. I’ll have to wake up, close the windows and go back to sleep. So here is my prototype of the rear window mesh cover. View attachment 36816

Splendid work, can I ask you what what are those lights you used?
For other extremely output off-road lights, I spent thousands dollars for them ( you can see from my other posts)
However, these very-cheap lights serve very well for their purposes

Lights 2 side walls (dual white / amber):

At the ceiling molle panel, I want to have movable/ magnetic light bars which I can move around my LC , under the hood, or around camp site. Also, they are usb chargeable. I had 3 pairs of those laying around
Have fun with little project if you plan to do it

Different ways to carry Maxtrax (recovery boards) for off-road trip
1/ No RTT, no hitch-mount tire carrier:

2/ With hitch-mount tire carrier:
Recovery boards are shaken when heavy off-road like rock garden…needed enhanced/reinforced the mounting place…

3/ roof rack for RTT, tire carrier for tire and extra fuel + trash bag:
Maxtrax on the side of roof rack
***Most of time, I go off-road/overlanding with family then RTT always take up all my Roofrack

Similar setup as my G

This “recovery board” plate is used for all 3 options above. It can be dropped in and take off quickly with QD plate (my DIY QD + bracket)

How did you like your G? Is it a viable and reliable option instead of the LC?
I own both G and LC. I love them both and they are my “never- resale” toys.
G is number 1 (very viable, reliable, monster and stand-out from the crowds), but my LCFE (with over $25K upgrades ) is right behind called number 2 ;)
To me both are special and always give me smiles when “riding” them 😜 😜.

Speak out from the owner (not keyboard warriors) of both flat forms. With $100k budget, I studied and passed all GX550, X5-6, Defender, Bronco Raptor, Grenadier for LCFE. It’s my story and my taste ;)

Love 💕 my LC!

Of all the upgrades you did - what are the top 3 you’d recommend?

If you really love and plan to keep it for long time (over 10 years). Also, really want to ultimately enjoy more both off-road+on-road and your budget / (spouse if married) allows 😜
Here are 3 essential upgrades in order (to me):
1/ AT tires: 33” minimum/17-18” wheel. 35” is ideal but not more than that
2/ if go with 35”, need “fully lifted suspension” kit…for real “upgraded” performance. NOT things like “preload collars, spring spaces, etc” I called them “downgraded” stuffs
3/ skid plates, rock slider for protection

For most people, just do 1/
