Water crossings in LC250

I seem to recall 700mm for hybrid - 27".

Just remember guys... "The 2024+ Land Cruiser isn't a real Land Cruiser." 😉

In regards to water, the only two things I would be worried about is the water getting into the cabin (battery and all the electronics) and the vent that is on the outside (US driver's side?) under the body panel. I had my 2003 4R midway up the door up, surprisingly no water in the cabin. It flooded in my town, this wasn't by choice. That LC is lifted enough. Maybe we'll get a non-hybrid someday.

The LC250 is that video is bad ass, almost makes me want to sink a bunch of money into my city'mobile.

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is, your conversion math is wrong. :ROFLMAO:
Siri told me 200mm is 7.87inch so that’s the difference between the two vehicles. I guess I could have framed my conversion… Anyways I hope you have a great day

Can someone point to an official source stating the US 250 is rated at 500 mm? I think someone has just made that up.

If you dig back in here you will see over and over that 70cm, 700mm, or just under 28" is the depth the hybrid can withstand. I just did a quick search of some overlanding sites and through the web and come up with the same. I cannot find 500mm mentioned anywhere.

500mm is only 19 inches, which is just over the mid-way point on my stock 265/70/18 tires, so I hope its 700mm! This really is not that much.

I just searched 700mm and this thread came up. How far can you submerge a cruiser? Dude posted a pic from a lift, but the number on it is ?00, not 250, so I'm not sure it's relevant.

Whatever. I'll extend the rear diff breather, if necessary, and install the Safari snorkel as soon as I can get one. I'm going to forget the official specs and just wheel like I always have.

700mm is the height to the flapper vents under the rear bumper sides.

For reference with the bumper installed it’s the height of the rear flat step portion measured at the side the flapper vent is just above that. If you flood that the rear floor is in danger of getting soaked, not the false floor but the body where the hybrid battery is mounted to. Probably kill the cooling fans for the battery first.

Mine is 29.5” after lift install.

Well it sounds like @Bad1975 above has solved the question of depth so thank you.
I finished that video and that is like a good movie. Completely blown away at how well the 250 does. I don't watch the channel 4WD 24-7, but sure appears they heavily favor the older models and the 250 is in the background. But when the sh#@ hits the fan it's the 250 that really shines. Comments to the video say its the best advertisement for the 250 they have ever seen and I have to agree.

Isnt the battery at a location higher than the floor?

Here is a video of the build for the 250 in this video from Offroad Animal.
At 11 min he dismantles the floor in back which has a battery too even though it's Australia and I assume a diesel. I don't know what kind of battery, or how his truck did not get flooded during that crazy drive. on a side note I really like the front bumpers they offer especially the Predator. That thing looks the business and fairly light at 143lbs.

As far as I can find 700mm is the LC200 wading depth also. It's amazing that a hybrid powered LC250 could have equal water fording capability to a non-hybrid LC200.:)

I don't have an hour and a half to waste. Is there a relevant time stamp?
The guys are amazing. I've been watching them for years. They are the original guys that used to run the 4WD magazine years ago.
But you can jump to the 1:13:00 minute mark to see them tackling the big river at the end.

Aussie LC's are not hybrid, so probably ok for deep water
This from Toyota of Australia, “V-Active technology features a 48-volt motor-generator system that assists engine performance and regenerates through deceleration.” Granted, AU gets the diesel, but is this not a similar mild hybrid system to what we get in the USA? I don’t know the answer, just asking. Thank you

That 4WD video, the 250 was photoshopped in all the scenes, they used A1 to cover the real Land Cruiser that was behind pushing the 79.

Not just any Land Cruiser… it was actually “The Real NA Land Cruiser” aka GX550! So only parts AI had to photoshop was the front and rear ends and background for interior video!

As remember from the Australian intro, they have both the “petrol” and the diesel to choose from. I am guessing it’s a diesel in the video but not 100% sure. Made sense since they were sharing fuel.
We don’t get the diesel because the right politicians haven’t been gotten paid yet.

Nope, 2.8l diesel with 48v mild-hybrid only. Has same battery housing in rear as US and same elevated floor but smaller battery. Not sure why there might be higher fording depth in the Australian version.
