Did you try your other set of wheels?
Did dealer take tires off rims and Inspect? Had similar issue on another vehicle, it was the michelin tires. Changed tires and problem solved. Waste of $1300.

Did your Michelins do that from day one or did the hum appear after 15k miles? I'm going to be pissed if it's the tires. I bought them because of the rave reviews. I actually suggested swapping wheels to the tech, and he laughed it off like it's something they'd never do. We were surrounded by Tacomas and 4Runners on the lot; would've taken five minutes to give it a try.

That's today's project.

Tires had about 20k miles tops, however they were about 4 years old and car was parked in garage when not in use. Tires looked like new, 2 of the 4 were bad, canr remember what was wrong exactly. The dealership spent hours trying to figure out the vibrations, they had a rolling road which is what they used ultimately to figure it out. Funny enough I threw away the stock bridgestones for michelin tires because I thought michelins were better for offroad, and they were.

I wish mine were as simple as mud or snow stuck to a wheel, but I'm fairly certain at this point it's a wheel bearing. Appointment at the dealer this Saturday to sort it out.

TL;DR

I’m gonna throw this out there.. but it MAY NOT be, is probably not what is causing many of the complaints in this thread. But who knows?

Miss Daisy’s first service at 5K was at a HORRIBLE dealership in Ocala, FL. I watched the entire service, from the garage door of the quick service center. Among other egregious things, the idiot (and that is being nice) doing the tire rotation used an air impact gun to run down, and over tighten (I asked him, he proudly replied 250 foot pounds) all of the wheel’s lug nuts. Not only that, he did them in a circular fashion. Not a star pattern like he should have. Needless to say, i complained to the Toyota complaint line.

THAT first tire rotation ruined my rotors, warping them, ever so slightly, and causing a problem that I didn’t learn the source of, until a year later, after watching various YouTube channels.

Driving down the highway, Miss Daisy’s OEM Michelin tires made a WAWAWAWAWA noise. Not overly loud, but very annoying nonetheless, especially for an $80,000 car to make. I asked the purchasing dealer service manager to measure runout one time, but he refused.

Somewhere along the way, one of the dealers turned the rotors, ON THE CAR, and the WAWAWAWAWA is much less noticeable. I am not sure if I am gong to replace all for rotors on my own. Time will tell.
