Racking up some concerns in the first week

2024 FE owner and I certainly recall the hard downshift a few times and the jerkiness, but that was during the first 2500 miles or so and I do not think it happens any more. I never had issue with fog lights or vibrations behind dash.

Re the rough idle/noise at cold start, you will find this disappear around 1k miles and your first service. Mine was like day and night after this point and smoothed out perfectly.

The hard downshift from time to time appears to be normal. I don't think Toyota has ever made a transmission that is overly smooth 100% of the time. It has proven to be very reliable with a very low failure rate, however, it is just a hair rough shifting at times.

I actually find the most annoying shift is from a stop light when shifting into first gear from the electric motor. You have to expect that and feather it a bit if it bothers you. This is normal.

I’m at 23k miles now and have the hard “clunk” from 2-to-1 occur every time I am forced to brake harder than the revs are dropping. I can avoid it 99.9% of the time and am not too alarmed by it as I can attribute it to a condition. Others have it occurring more sporadically. Really just adding my experience to the consensus that it doesn’t go away.

DubDub,

Completely off of the original subject here, but I just noticed your vehicles profile, and it appears that we have very similar taste in our toys. Aside form the LC, I also have a Sequoia, a Jeep TJ, and Ranger 1000 as well .
