Being a Sequoia owner I am constantly trying to keep up with the latest on this issue, especially as we continue to rack the miles in our family trips. What I still can’t iron out flat is the hard barrier between recall coverages of standard and iforce-max powertrains. Toyota seems to believe, or at least expect consumers to believe that the iforcemax is wholly unaffected by these persistent issues. Trying to aggregate data on instances of failure is hard enough, forget the iforce-max/standard impact assessment. Our’s has not showed any indications of failure (1k breakin, 5k changes performed), and I do believe this is impacting <1% of V35s, but we keep family cars for 150k miles and I’m not sure my nerves will allow me to hang on that long. We’ll see…
