I had this done a couple days ago. I needed to reset my information screen so all my APPS and Music, to play again plus Navigation. The recall hasn't cleared on my phone yet. Toyota sent a letter about over-the-Air (OTA) option.

I had taken my LC250 into dealership for a few issues yesterday. Mostly those surrounding the infotainment system and Android Auto issues. Dealer sat in vehicle and experienced the issues I'm having and said, let's see if we can diagnose it, as well as complete the recall update--even though I've never had a problem with the screen previously. Nonetheless, the recall update is complete but Andoid Auto issues seem to still be there. Uuggh!

The recall was made available on May 27th of this year.

I think some are still confusing the infotainment and driver’s information display, as they both have recalls. This whole post was IRT the driver’s information display.

Mine is a 25 and the recall does say the 12.3 display. Just weird that I purchased my truck after the fix was available yet the dealer didn't do it.

It came out 2 weeks before you bought. I doubt the dealership even began addressing that recall on customer’s cars by then, and it’s also very likely the recall preceded the fix being available.

Letters are out now with Remedy. If you read the last page, there is an over the air method coming soon too, so the system will be able to do the update while sitting at home. I am toying on doing this versus going back to the local dealer, having to seat through their speech about "we need to regrease your muffler bearings and fill your tires with 78% nitrogen for $800 or you will forfeit your warranty" again.

Had recall done today, took all of 1 hour. Had seen main gauge cluster go black on me once two weeks ago and the infotainment go black once or twice in my 2 years. Will follow up if any issues noticed.

P.S. Public Service notice and lesson learned:
I had been noticing some clunking and metal on metal clinking in the front end (mainly when turning sharply, going over driveways/bumps or in reverse) I mentioned it to the dealer to check while in the shop. A $149 diagnostic fee later, and I had apparently not properly torqued the OEM metal skid plate bolts to the 22 ft-lbs required. This is a pretty well-know source of creaking and clunking, and I felt stupid! Since I'm doing all the maintenance myself, I was in a rush on the last oil change and just did a quick impact wrench tighten without checking torque.

Scott Clark Toyota. Did the other recall there and the advisor told me if they didn’t do the maintenance, Toyota would not honor the warranty. When I asked her to put in writing in my paperwork they conversation changed, so I asked her if she knew that what she said was illegal. Still, after warranty work they had about $800 worth of recommended maintenance.

I got my alert on the phone app. Interestingly, I also received one by mail that said an over the air software update for it may be an option in the future if you prefer it to going in to a dealer.

Got the notice in the mail that said the same, but my Toyota app is now also saying there will be an OTA fix in "the near future".

I'm 1,500 miles shy of my 25,000 mile service. If there's no OTA by then I'll have them do it at the dealer.

Docs for the update. As @izzysanchez says, the letter says "Toyota is also preparing an Over-the-Air (OTA) update option for this safety recall remedy." The letter also has details and instructions for how to make sure your Land Cruiser is ready to receive the update.

I don't believe the 1958 has the 12.3" screen that is the subject of this recall.

Unfortunately the recall is only for vehicles with the 12.3 inch screen.

You confirmed in an earlier comment that your issue is a blanking infotainment screen. This recall is exclusive to the LC and FE trim 12.3” driver information display (speed/tac gage screen behind the steering wheel). It is 100% not applicable to the 1958

I advise against tightening the skid plate bolts with power tools. Mine and others were stripped by the dealership. To repair the damage is not as easy as it could be due to poor design (toyota should know about the imposters in their service depts using 1/2" impacts on everything). I use a 1/4" ratchet.
Takes an extra minute to fasten by hand.
Takes significantly longer and necessary expertise to repair.
I also call BS on noise being from skidplate. It would rattle not clunk. Unless the 1 qualified technician at the dealer told you this, the burger flippers are guessing. They probably over tightened/stripped them as well.
