Toyota Recalls 82,000 Vehicles Because Driver Displays Can Go Blank; 2024-2025 Land Cruiser included

Sorry but I’m pretty sure this is AI nonsense. Why would the software “recalibrate the internal audio signal levels (gain staging) sent from the head unit to the vehicle's factory amplifier”? I’m happy to be educated but I’m pretty sure this is a hallucination.
Having been part of cars going through their initial calibrations on the production lines, this doesnt surprise me. There are hundreds of setpoints and tests performed when the car is being brought to life. Could also be AI B.S too. You'd probably have be a toyota process engineer to know for certain.

My gut tells me that is a pretty big stretch also.

Actually, no. My little Fiat definitely retards the gain when it senses excess volume.......System obviously has a built in clipping sensor so amps or speakers don't get fried. Far more sophisticated than old school hard clipping shut off or breaker popping.

Modern vehicles often have electronic adjustments of the audio system automatically performed “on the fly” by the vehicle- speed dependant volume/equalization is common today (and included in the Land Cruiser). The disbelief I have with the AI content posted is specifically that this update from Toyota delves into anything related to amplifier gain 😉.

The context of what we’re discussing is not whether the amp has gain limiting, but rather whether the software update for the screen glitch would change audio amplification signals. Seems highly doubtful to me.

There is a multimedia component to the software update (see image captured by izzysanchez), though we haven't been given specific details. I'll find out soon enough how it relates.
