The Skid Plate List

Possibly?

I speculate it's to add "/4Run"....if that's a thing manufacturers do?

Side by side pics added for reference

What is everyone's thoughts on the rear diff skid? I don't plan on rock crawling or hitting difficult trails. Do plan to buy the victory 4x4 rear shock skids for peace of mind.

And here i am waiting for CBI to release LC250 skid plate, i know the 4runner one should fit since it's the same frame, but i had sway bar disconnect and i don't know if it'll be a problem or not.

I did see the Toyota OEM Skid Plates and too me they are less thick around 4mm or less. Which to me less protective than the RCI or DV8's I guess and they roughly around 6.5mm. roughly. The actuator is just behind the transmission which is most vulnerable to hits. Toyota has installed a protective clamp. But its too nimble and will get toasted easily . I have customised to 10mm and that absolute like " Iron Dome" to the body frame.

From my point of view, I'm trying to be conscious of the weight I'm adding and with every farkle (portmanteau of "functional" & "sparkle") that I add, the weight adds up fast.

If I eventually do go with aftermarket skids, I'll go with aluminum as a compromise. I have no plan to toboggan over rocks that would necessitate steel skid plates.
