Tacoma Trail Hunter CV Upgrade

when CV breaks, there is a big chance it will damage the oil pan

Oh dear... The Mojave Cruiser found us

The guy who installs:
  • 3" lift,
  • 37" Tires,
  • Black Rhino Wheels
Then blames Toyota when his CV axle breaks and now has a lifelong mission to destroy the brand

His Hankock tires are nearing 69.9Lbs each
The Black Rhino wheel weight, would be interesting to know along with the offset

Im truly impressed his CV axle lasted as long as it did

For anyone who’s going to buy CVs now -

I plugged in the Tacoma Trailhunter CV shaft assemblies & lock nut part numbers into Mike Calvert Toyota out of Houston. They’ve done me well shipping OE Tundra parts in the past. Pretty surprised how big a discount they are giving on these parts right now.

Both TRD / Trailhunter shafts & lock nuts = $688 shipped.

Hope this might help someone on the forum.

Part numbers?
Thx.

UPDATE:
I've had the TRD TH CV's for a few thousand miles now. No real change in MPG, if anything I've average slightly better but that could be wind direction on my 500 mile drives. No other unique sensations, just a very straight forward swap and little more piece of mind for my modified setup while climbing some rutted steep stuff.
