Roof Rack? Sherpa vs Gobi?

Still very happy with the Sherpa on my LC. I do like the look of the Gobi quite a bit, but quiet was a major factor in my rack purchase and it's hard for me to see how that design wouldn't be more noisy than the Sherpa. Looks taller visually, is it actually higher off the roof?

Found a good installation video albeit on a JEep, the ladder itself seems relatively easy to remove from it's mounting points, but those mounting pieces might take a while to get off if you need.
It was enough to convince me to get the ladder and the removable moonroof section.

The "stealth" model is a total of six inches high, including the box like structure, so definitely taller than the sherpa.
I don't think either one is quiet when loaded. You can find reviews discussing noise but opinions seem to vary.

Installed rack and ladder today @ Gobi Racks, local installation is currently FREE. They are still developing external molle panels for the rear windows, I may let them prototype using my LC. I'm very happy with the appearance, definitely not massive looking. Everyone at Gobi was great to work with. Measured noise at 75 mph, 70 decibels before and after, rack empty.

Nicely set up! That looks incredible! I will have to follow suit soon. I appreciate the update and info on the wind noise. Do you mind taking a close up of the connection points to the roof of the car as well? I'm wondering if the 1958 has the same roof mounting points are the LC LC.
Confirmed, they are identical (and I believe same as the GX550).

The window access was a concern of mine since I heavily use it. I'm waiting for mine to get installed and will see if I really need to climb up on the roof. I found this as an alternative if I really needed the ladder.

Checking in with this group to see how people are liking the Gobi roof racks. I just won an iKamper Skycamp DLX tent with a bunch of other gear they had in a giveaway and torn between the looks of the Gobi and the functionality of the Sherpa Atlas. From all of my research, it seems the Sherpa is the better option for ease of RTT mounting. Have heard mixed reviews on the Gobi being a bit of a pain. Not sure I will ever get an awning but it looks like the sherpa is a winner on that front as well. Really like the look of the Gobi rack though. Any updates on the Gobi would be much appreciated! 
The gobi definitely looks cool. Sometimes I wish it sat just a little lower, and I wonder if I had gone with a lower profile rack if I would be getting slightly better mileage. I think I lost a full 1-2 from the steady 20 mpg I was averaging with the nitto’s and no rack. Also, it’s probably overkill for my needs. I mounted a Starlink up there very easily. The metal mesh bottom is nice for DIY mounting or even just ratcheting down things. I’m not sure I’d want a rooftop tent on the gobi because it would be so high. Another thing I’ve realized is there’s no side panel solutions that go over the windows to mount to it from gobi yet, and I’m looking at solutions for fuel after a Colorado trip and some range anxiety. It also comes with the rear ladder, but it’s just sitting in my garage because I don’t want to lose back glass function. Install was very straightforward, and I have no complaints with the quality of the rack itself.
