My vehicle just passed a year and therefore, my trial connections have expired. I only want remote connect but Toyota seems to want to con us into buying other (UNUSED) services to keep remote connect. Has anyone been able to renew the remote connect only? I don't feel it is appropriate to pay $180/yr for features I won't be using. If necessary, I will just use the remote start on keyfob.

Agree,^^^ However there is no getting around the policy. Unless you are given a special exception for some major problem on Toyota's end. The $180 per year doesn't buy enough for my needs...

I too balked at the $180/year as I too only wanted remote start. But then I succumbed.

I fly about 25 times a year for work, and it can get cold in Missouri in the winter. And very hot in the summer. I decided to keep the service just so I could start and warm up (or cold down) the LC while on the parking lot shuttle, just jump in the warm car and roll. Also, my work office is too far from the parking lot for the fob.

I rationalized that if I used it 60 times a year it cost $3 per use. I don’t do Starbucks, so I am saving money 😒

I’m another that ponied up for an annual subscription. The value is an individual judgment for each owner; for me it passed. I do kick myself for getting the package with the music connection instead of the one that includes the nav info. I never used the nav, so didn’t consider it, but when I was checking out I thought “oh maybe a music backup for when I don’t want to fiddle with CarPlay would be nice.” I’ve never used it once, but I did discover that the low speed auto-drive function only works with the nav subscription. I loved using that when stuck in I-5 crawl!
