Real World mpg

6,000 miles on our '25 LC and averaging 23 mpg of mostly city (town) roads in Sport mode... It's on 34x10.5's and 17" RRW wheels.

Its all how you drive it. Speed, coasting versus braking, what mode you use. There is a drive ai regularly do and depending how ai drive I get 17 to 22 mpg. I also learned that tge max recorded mileage is 99.9 mpg coasting down roads from a 6k elevation to 4k over 15 miles.

Weird thing happened today for the first time ever. I recently did my own oil change and added techron to the tank of supreme gas. I then drove it 5 hours across the state where normally I get 17.5 mpg consistently as I have done this trip a dozen times and I am at 16k on the odo. Today I got 23 mpg for the first time ever for the entire trip. Normally range is 250 miles.... today range hit 285. Curious. That's a 6 mpg increase at 74 mph for 5 hours.

Wow. I would be curious if that mpg lasts. I only have 400 miles on my 25 LC with 285/75/17 tires but I am getting 17.5-18.2 driving very conservatively and no interstate speeds.

I am driving back tomorrow so I can see if it happens for the 5 hour return trip. So far around town tonight it is continuing the 22 mpg. I have been 17.5 mpg for over 16,000 miles on my odometer consistently in most driving conditions. This is a first for me getting above 17.5 mpg. I can't imagine adding techron and using mobil 1 oil synthetic would increase my mpg that much? Maybe?

Just finished a long trip. Interstate to LA, about 800 miles. Averaged 22.2 over the way. On the trip back I took the backroads, mixed trails, definitely a slow route and averaged 23.1 so, not a huge difference. In my day to day I get 25-29mpg for the tank average so I was disappointed for this trip average. But here I am complaining about 23. My FJ60 wouldn’t top 15 or do 85 for hundreds of miles.

I did the drive back and had zero wind and averaged 21 mpg for 5 hours at 75 mph. So it continues for the ride back with zero wind. Not sure why it changed at 17k on the odometer.

Stop and go around Albuquerque was getting 22mpg pretty consistently and show 330mi per fill-up. mpg’s got much better after 5000miles on the odometer.

Moving across the country to Maine (just rolled 10k), roof box and towing a 6’x12’ U-Haul cargo trailer weighing 4200Lbs… I averaged 14.3mpg which ain’t bad, got another 900miles to go but I expect the same-ish.

Just hit 4,000 miles on the odometer.

Averaging 23mpg in city driving.

Just completed a 750 mile round-trip to Southern Indiana while towing a 300 pound dirtbike on a 350 pound Kendon trailer and averaged 22.5mpg for the trip. ECO mode, average highway speed was 65mph to 70mph on Shell 93 Octane gas.

Very happy with this Land Cruiser on the highway - seats are comfortable and ergonomics fit me well.

DTE keeps increasing, I am seeing 360 mile range now.

There’s been a few initial reports in different threads and they appeared fairly low. Hopefully more out there soon. What’s your general mix of city/highway/offroad?

I have a fairly light foot and have taken my LC LC loaded to the brim with gear and bicycles hanging off the back on several long trips. I keep it in “normal” mode and average right around 24 all around. I’ve seen as high as 28 but the lowest I have had was still 20. How you drive has a lot to do with the mpg you’ll see (at least that’s been my observation). Similar to the Ford Ecoboost - it’s either eco or boost, not both.

Engine well broken in now and i'm averaging 15.6MPG on my 2024 Land Cruiser mix of highway and city about 50/50. It almost never runs on battery alone. I was considering a gear box relearn since it's so much lower then others.

X on the Ford Ecoboost. My 2015 Transit 350 LWB, extended body, tall roof would go from 15 to 21 MPG just by slowing down to 60 MPH on trips.

I’m far enough along now to have a pretty good grasp on it. On the highway, I get optimal (30+ mpg) between 40 and 60. Above 60 it drops and by 80 it’s closer to 17 mpg. Around town, if it’s stop-start I get around 15-17, ballpark.

Typical tank of gas, which is commuting, I am about 18.5-19 mpg, which is a mix of city streets and highway. So heavy variance.

So what are you and @HammerTheWall doing to get that?? 30 MPG REALLY???? That's amazing. Do you try to drive easy? Or do you feel you need to get your peddle down a bit to get the electric boost to engage?
