My 35 tires weight 52lb. Each wheel and tire were 8lb heavier than stock .You are saying your LC on 35s (which given that dimension probably also means a heavy duty load rating) is capable of getting the same mileage as the GX OT on the factory issued OEM 33” SL rated Toyos… the ones with less tread depth and rolling resistance than that exact tire bought brand new from a tire store. That’s gotta be at least a 30 lbs difference in unsprung weight at every wheel. At LEAST. In which case the LC getting similar or same mileage is performing a heroic feat. Put heavy 35” tires on the GX with that much additional rotating mass and overcoming the extra 2” of diameter and see how the MPGs are then and how much boost the motor employs. My 5 days with the Tundra on 35s showed me plenty. It’s ugly… I couldn’t get an avg out of the 12s and that was a blend of city/highway. I’m positive if I was trying to hyper mile I could have gotten above 13 and probably even 14 if I did a lot more highway skewed driving vs an even split.
I agree that it’s unlikely for somebody to consistently get 29 MPGs on the highway in the LC on cruise control, especially since the cruise control constantly brakes to correct and maintain a set speed after accelerating. On a pancake flat highway and factory tires at the correct PSI, driving a steady 65 MPH will easily get one 25+ MPGs though.
