I took some more pics this morning- firmer than the G3’s a little, yet I’m running 38 psi compared to 35 psi on my 275’s. I may go down to 36 psi in a few days. 19.1 mpg now compared to 19.6 on my 275’s

Ok - after talking with Nitto, they are currently out of stock for the 285 Terra grapplers G3’s, therefore, I went with my original order of the Toyos. To be honest the sidewalls look almost identical. This is from a 275 to 285/70/18 most probably can’t tell. I put the 275 on the spare.

Toyo owns Nitto. Those two tires are basically the same.

That’s going to be tight on the knuckle/UCA clearance if running the stock 1958 (+70mm) wheels. My 285/65s on a +47.5mm offset allows me to just squeeze my fingers through the gap.

275/70/18 should fit. I run those on ours, though on wheels with more offset. 265’s are an OEM size.

That size is too big to squeeze into the spare tire location also.

The diameter of the 285/65 is the exact same as the OE LC trim size 265/70 @ 32.6”. The width is 20mm or 0.8” larger. It will fit in the spare location and snug up in the void perfectly, but it will extend down 0.8” and likely hang just a little lower than your rear pumpkin.

The fitment issue is contested because some have had success with larger 285s, reporting no rubbing like @robsurfskate. I wouldn’t do it if you ever intend to deflate for anything. On my +47.5mm offset wheels, I get a small amount of knuckle/UCA rubbing @20psi under moderate flexing. I was almost able to bind them at full tuck. Back up to 25psi I was fully clear. Logic dictates that an additional 22.5mm (~0.9”) of clearance shrinking would amplify that obstruction. Again, if you’re just going to be on pavement you’d likely be ok. Remember, offsets are measured from the center of the wheel to the hub, so these quick math calcs hold pretty well in application even with your 7” wide wheels.

I'm considering the Dueler A/T Ascent 275/60R20 SL 115T (99% on-road use). Are there known rubbing (or any other) concerns with this size on this particular tire? According to Tirerack.com the weight on these (41 lbs) is the same as the 265/60R20 SL 112H version of the same tire. So I was hoping to be able to go with the 275s.

Bigcat - 275/60R20 Falken A/T4W Wildpeak run fine on OE 20x7.5” rims & also fit fine in the spare wheel well. Buying 5 lets you do cross tire rotations extending tire life.

I just replaced the OEM Michelin ATX’s’s with 5 Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent tires on Miss Daisy. I have only put about 450 miles on them since new, and I haven’t seen as good of MPG yet as I did with the Michelin ATX’s, but pretty close. I have a few significant trips coming up, that I have made many times in the past, so I will be looking closely at MPG obtained.

The AT Dueler’s ride almost identical to the Michelin ATX’s, and are almost as quiet as the Michelins ATX’s. But the road noise is slightly different than that of the Michelin’s, which sounded like passenger car tires on the tarmac. The AT Dueler’s not so much.

I haven’t put them to the test off-road yet, but am trying to find someplace close to me to do so. If push comes to shove, I can travel to get to some off-road trails, or even to Daytona Beach where I grew up.. Lots of vehicles are getting stuck on the sandy beach nowadays. If I get stuck, I can always get Sand Tow to help me get unstuck.

Does anyone know how low I can go when I air down the Dueler’s on OEM rims?

Ottabox - Pretty sure those aren’t the same spec Falken Wildpeak as what you buy @ Discount Tire or wherever aftermarket. Great price, but know what you are buying.

Those are OE Toyota spec tires for the Tundra &. Sequoia w/ TRD Off Road trim packages called Falken Wildpeak A/T3Wa. They are like 35#, have significantly less tread depth, & are not as robust in performance or longevity. Made for helping w/ MPG. Falken does make a aftermarket version (A/T3W) but it is getting discontinued & replaced w/ Wildpeak A/T4W (an even better tire).

I have the stock Wildpeak A/T3Wa version on my ‘26 Tundra Hybrid w/ TRD OR pkg & they ride nice, just don’t perform too well off road. That version is still being produced for Toyota as a unique spec tire. Have the A/T4W 275/60R20 (33”) on our LC & love them. Fit fine.

I can't seem to find an LC base trim (non 1958) that comes with 18" wheels so I may have to end up settling for 20" wheels. What is my best strategy with changing the tires to KO3 or Toyo A/T3? size the wheel down or try to hunt down some Toyo A/T 3 XL or buy aftermarket 18" wheels and buying tires accordingly?

Not true. The ones he pictured are the AT3W that comes on the Tundra and Sequoia TRD Pros. They do have 1 or 2 /32” less original tread (I’m 99% sure), but they are otherwise a true AT3 (at least in comparison to other OE Wildpeak offerings). A distinction only true for the Pros.

Agreed on the AT3Wa that comes on the TRD ORs though. The wife’s Sequoia chewed through a set really quickly (3/32” @ just 16k miles).

Thanks @GR8Santini . Are your GX550 rims 20x7.5 then? I should have mentioned that I'm planning to use Tundra take offs that are 20x8 rims, so 1/2 inch wider than stock, and was wondering about that. I guess I can ask the tire shop to do a fitment test.

275/60R20 will fit a 8” wide rim just fine. You can pull the manufacturer spec up & it will show rim width ranges - but you're good.
