I noticed that too... and am now pretty sure he got his LC from Sparks Toyota down there. They literally pin stripe every single vehicle they bring in. They did a terrible job on mine with missed strokes, overlaps breaks and waves throughout. Because mine was bought and transported up to me, and I thought that they were the stickers when I took delivery, I was unable to get it fixed. I was so disappointed in myself when I went to remove them and realized they were painted on, and not with any traditional paint that a simple solvent could fix either. I am still learning to ignore them, but failing.
For what it's worth, I contacted them directly and asked them what kind of paint is used. I wound up talking to the Sales Manager there. All I got from that jerk was that it wasn't their problem, and the admission that they don't QA those stripes at all (too high a volume of vehicles to make sure the paint guy/gal isn't messing up $60-70k trucks). It was immediately clear that guy saw me as a waste of time, and he did not take the feedback well. After the the conversation had devolved into him being fully on the defensive, I let my opinion fly and asked if he would be willing to fix the stripes. Of course he said no, but I was feeling pretty petty and was all about wasting more of his time and raising his blood pressure.
If you live up near me in the Hampton Roads, VA / Northeast NC area, you know Priority Toyota, and how bad it is. Sparks is Priority in the Charleston region. Even when I retire down there, I won't be using them for jack.
