How smooth is your LC250 at 70+ mph?

Those of you doing 70 and well over, what are your tire setups? Some LCs come with HT, some with AT etc

Super smooth at highway speeds, only thing I don't like is the noise from the stupid Ridge Grapplers the dealer installed. Nice looking rubber, but I'll definitely be putting a less aggressive tread on when they're used up.

I don’t think (?) that the Ridge Grapplers are Triple peak snow rated, so depending on where you are in NC, you may want to consider that in your next tire purchase.

Just picked up my 24 LC LC this weekend and took it on my first mini road trip. Noticing vibration at 70+ mph that isn’t necessarily shaking the steering wheel but is noticeable through the seat, side mirrors, and even some vibrating of the back seats visible in the rear view mirror. This is my first body on frame vehicle so not sure whether to chalk this up to that or if it’s something else like wheel balance / alignment / driveshaft balance.

It's been like butter for me. Almost at 3k miles now. Running Nitto Ridge Grappler 265/70 18

I don’t think (?) that the Ridge Grapplers are Triple peak snow rated, so depending on where you are in NC, you may want to consider that in your next tire purchase.

This thing might see natural snow a few times a year up at Wintergreen, VA but that's about it.

Currently on a road trip and my LC is riding very smooth at 70-80 mph. However, I’m noticing a rubber smell coming off the engine. Hopefully it’s nothing but a new engine smell.

Mine came with the Ridge Grapplers, which I did not like due their seemingly soft sidewalls (exacerbated body roll) and poor handling. I replaced them with BFG Trail Terrains (I like KOs, but I didn’t want the weight increase). The BFGs were great performers and quiet, but they caused vibrations above around 60mph, even after being road force balanced three time. I swapped out with Toyo Open Country AT3s (standard load) this week. The vibrations are generally gone, but still there will be moments at highway speeds where I feel a bit of shaking. I’m starting to think the LC in a stock setup is sensitive to vibration, at least with all terrain tires. It might be why they put highway biased tires on them typically?

I came from an Audi and felt more vibrations at high speeds in the lc for sure. I’m now over a year in and 18k miles and I’m certainly more used to the vibrations.

Only other thing I will mention is - this is the first new car I’ve ever gotten. I was driving some bumpy roads this morning and found myself thinking - man this suspension is breaking in nicely I feel like it keeps getting smoother. Not sure if that’s more of an LC thing as I’m sure suspension on all new cars need to break in, but just a tidbit from my experiences.

My 24 LCLC is smooth even at 90 MPH on I90. 11K miles on the odometer. The 8 speed transmission is a vast improvement over the old 4Runners (5th gen).

There’ll be some vibration. It’s smoother overall, but similar to my truck.

I have had mine to 90 smooth through all of the transition!

Also, these are the newest generation transmissions where the transmission learns from it's own shifts, aside from how you use it. It analyzes variances in turbine speed pre and post shift to determine optimal pressure and engagement/release points, among other things.

Aka if gets even better the more you use it. This has been my experience in close to 40k miles.

Mine has been vibration-free at any speed. Normally cruise on the interstate between 75-85 mph, no issues.

Where 70 is the speed limit, my LC is completely smooth at 70 and everything under. I have the crossbars and have no issues with them.

My 2024 FE with 275/70/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers in OEM wheels is smooth at any speed up to 100mph+.... Haven't tried more than that not would I confess to it...

FE owner as well, but with the stock Michelins still...can neither confirm nor deny that it's still smooth and had more in the tank at 116 mph!

BFG KO2 265 60 R20; at a cruise 70-85mph ride remarkable for a body on frame vehicle.

No issues with vibration even with the KO2’s.

My 2024 1958 is smooth as silk at highway speeds (70+). I have the highway tires now, but plan to change to more all terrain type tires when the OEM tires wear out (I now have a bit over 12000 on the vehicle). I am trying to decide which tires to use when I replace them.
