How many Northern California folks do we have here?

I would like to help and participate in a greater sacto area TLCA chapter.

I have been a member for about 6 months.
The two so called NorCal chapters are poorly run and not responsive.
Also very not local to the greater Sacto areas.
No agenda, maybe a monthly or every other month get together, venue TBD.
Next month is the annual TLCA Rubithon. My only interest is to attend the vendors area. way too family gang plan for me.
Maybe that is the first meet and greet??
Possible club trip agendas to discuss:
Gold mining site visits
Sierra fishing trips
Sierra cabin over nights
Astronomy trips
Modifications, what and how to.
Equipment demos, inverter cooking demo with induction cooking devices
Maybe invite shops to present their cabilites.
Other,,,

Personably i have no interest in Glamping or Over camping, for others knock yourselves out, i/ we do understand.
I am sure any group that might come together could support any desired trips and adventures.
If there is interest, we should get a private email string and then establish a group and list it here as well as register with TLCA.
Thx.

I'd be interested in this.

Winch will need to be wired directly to the battery. The factory 12v front point isn’t rated to handle a winch at full draw. What they did for me was run power wire from the back and made another positive terminal in the engine bay, which the winch is a then connected to. I’ll try to get a picture for you when I can.
Were you able to get a picture of the "positive terminal" in the engine bay? I'm contemplating this project and looking for ideas.

Also, where did they ground the winch? All the way back to the battery or somewhere else?

Thanks!

CAtuned Off-Road Winch Harness for Mercedes Sprinter
^ they used this same kit.

Winch is grounded to the vehicle’s body though a factory ground point iirc

got a rock chip in my windshield that turned into a crack from driving on the construction zone on San Thomas in Santa Clara, unfortunately it was at the bottom of the glass so Safelite wouldn't repair it. Found a place called Guardian Windshield repair, mobile service and he was able to reinforce it so it won't spread. Worth checking out for when you inevitably get a window crack or chip because of the windshield angle.

Not sure where, a good few months ago, someone recommended a LC shop in NorCal that was really good, maybe the Stockton area or somewhere around there. U lost the note. Please repost if you see this.
Thx.

Valley Hybrids in Stockton also known as Cruiser Brothers and they are partnered with Terrain Tamer as well. Georg Esterer is the owner, done a bit of business with them, they are legendary status for Land Cruiser and Toyota work.

Thank you thank, you i'll go and see them, 30 minutes away at worst.

I have contacted the two NorCal TCLA chapters several times, no reply.
They appear to be very localized and self serving small groups.
Do we want to start a more localized greater Sacto area chapter?
We could do meetings at the 4WD drive park, show and tell, get togethers, people that want to practice while there certainly could.
TCLA is very easy to deal with is my guess.
I will participate cannot get over burdened with logistics and running anything due to my work schedule at this time.
Will to do what i am able to help the group get started and get at least a first get together rolling.
Events up coming:
The NorCal-ToyotaFest in Woodland June 27
The Petaluma swap meet, planning on going to this to see what's out there.
Any interest in a TLCA group formation?

Adding the upcoming Rubithon event.
Not for me, however for the family types portions or the whole thing might be attractive.

I’d love to be a part of this. I’m in Vallejo 94591. I need friends. LOL.

I've been thinking about just offering to do a get together for this group. There's a lot of us in Sac and the Bay Area. I was thinking Journey Coffee in Suisun since I've seen other car groups gather there. Alternatively there's Heretic Brewing...

Formerly from the Bay Area, got too Crowded and busy, left for open country in Idaho, but always back to see family.🙂

Sign me up for the meet up. I can DM my cell if that works.
