I am also in the market for the mt64's. I hope you know the 4runner trail hunters come from factory with mt64's. Toyota would not use cheap, unreliable parts for their top of the line 4 runner. This might just be an isolated incident

a (hypothetical) recall is a recall, doesn't matter what toyota spec'd. they just issued a recall for the grand highlander / lexus tx on a part they had made to their spec so things happen. i am frugal and i'm trying to avoid paying labor and alignment twice. my car rides fine today, i don't want to introduce problems if there is in fact a revision coming. arb hasn't been very forthcoming with me (told me to email them next week) but it sounded like OP was in fairly close contact about the issue.
I got Bp51 installed a month ago & noticed the rear shocks are leaking oil. One is almost completely covered & the other is just starting to leak. Called 4Wheelparts where I bought & had them installed. Appointment set for EOM. I have to drive 2 hrs round trip & waste prob 8 hrs now.

Trailhunter OME shocks is not MT64. Amongst many visual differences the main one here is that it does not share the same front strut top mount design with the MT64 or BP51 kits. TH shocks uses a traditional 4 bolt to shock shaft mount that is the same as regular trim top hats. MT64 and BP51 uses a top mount that allows an eyelet shock mount to be adapted to the standard 4 bolt.

I did notice on a video posted by Kaon, a shop in Australia documenting a set of MT64 install that the set uses the stock style tophats
Exactly when the change was made is unknown, and if you are experience no issue it be interesting to know which style top hat is your set.
