Hood Struts every LC250 shoulda came with

The Redline version is $79 on Amazon for Black Friday, just ordered. No BF deals listed on Redline website.

I just installed them. Very happy with function. Only time will tell if these $100 struts are better than the $25 eBay/Amazon version, but I will update this thread if they fail.

Those are positioned similarly to what comes from factory on the GX. I’d prefer that to the Amazon version’s axis, and suspect at least some amount of engineering principles were in effect when Lexus chose that method. I’m not sold, but will spend the extra $$ where you did should I decide to add struts.

While I do think the Redline kit is superior to the chineasium kits, I installed the Amazon kit almost a year ago and it's done it's job very well! No complaints.

(edit) One thing to consider...... the Chineasium kit is "no drilling required, simply remove an OEM bolt, place the bracket, then replace the bolt. On the fender side........ use an existing hole. On the redline kit, I believe requires to drill rivet holes (at least on my Taco install) not hard to install but does require careful measurements.

There are existing holes in the LC hood that you have to make larger. They provide the bit to do that. Once you widen the existing hole in the hood, you then install the struts. The bottom of the struts fit existing bolts and holes in the engine well, so no drilling required there.

Anyone tried the 4x4 Engineering/Bansbach (Germany) kit? Looks to be a direct bolt-in. The partial open feature could be handy for charging. I'm sure the USD$350 price is a little steep for most!
