I just completed the buyback of my 2025 LC Monday. In CO, they did not offer a replacement, just buyback. I was one of the lucky ones with a transmission replacement. Basically, I escalated it through the refgional office and they worked with me throughout the process. You have to give them the financial aspects (if any) of your loan/lease and milage. Basically, once they know the loan details, they will propose an offer, for me it paid Toyota Financial the remander of my payments, paid me all of the payments I made and the registration. They then charge back a milage deduction, and wrote me a check for the rest. Because I was getting another LC, they gave me a retention credit that covered most of the milage cost. Once you accept the offer, they will arrange the surrender of the vehicle, which has to be inspected for any damage etc, kind of like a lease return. The process started early November, and finished this week, although I did delay it a bit so I had my replacement in hand prior to surrender. Part of delaying it was that I had put new AT tires on the 2025, they would not reimburse for those, as no matter what, you had to turn it in with tires. So I delayed it until I had both, and exchanged the wheels/tires onto the new one.

Regarding getting a new LC, I was on my own, I found one I liked, but it was in Nashville, (I'm in CO) Toyota did agree to reimburse me for shipping the LC to my home. In the end, I thought it was a good experience, I basically got everything back that I put into it, and got a 2026.

Thank you, this is all great info. Did you go though the whole process with Toyota brand engagement or through another avenue? How much do they charge for mileage (per mile calculation?)?

If I am lucky and they offer to buy it back I will also need to figure out how to switch the AT tires I put on it.

I suppose you wouldn't require the repair considering you were doing a replacement or buy back? Sad the MFR reached out in a timely manner and the dealer, CRICKETS? I'd make sure to go elsewhere because your dealer appears to be afflicted with a Genuine case of Delusion.

If Toyota does agree to buy back I will most likely want to use another dealership, you got that right.

Colorado Mileage Fee:

• A reasonable allowance for use, as described in subsection (1) of this section, must be obtained by multiplying the total contract price or lessee cost of the motor vehicle by a fraction having as its denominator one hundred thousand and having as the fraction's numerator the sum of:
• The number of miles that the motor vehicle traveled before the consumer's first presentation of the vehicle to the manufacturer, the manufacturer's agent, or the manufacturer's dealer or lessor for repair of the nonconformity; and
• The number of miles that the motor vehicle traveled during any subsequent period when the motor vehicle was not out of service by reason of repair.
