Firearms, Hunting, Shooting Sports

Uk is a little different - I do some driven game on Exmoor , up in N Wales (partridge and pheasant - used to do grouse) and some out of season clays

Have a matched pair of Perazzi 12 bore shotguns MX12 SC3 spec - went out to the factory to select the wood and be fitted - nice experience

The costs have continued to increase over here and it’s now a very expensive hobby especially at the high bird end of the market and hard to see it being sustainable long term - lot of regulatory encroachment but not to the degree they have in parts of the EU
I have enjoyed hunting in England and Scotland. I love the tradition - have done birds, stag and muntjac…lots of fun.

Solid find today.

I called in 11 that got killed in 15 days. I killed 2 our state limit.
Good for you! I don't get out for turkey much anymore due to having a bird dog. She's mostly trained, but I still take a lot of time to keep her sharp through the year. This year ill do more turkey hunting than I have been the last 3-4 years combined

It’s a bad obsession with me. I used to hunt 8-10 states a spring. Now I stay home but hunt a lot. I used to average 21 or our 23 day season. This year I hunted 15 of first 19 and then hung it up. Best of luck and enjoy.

After too much debate I finally got around to ordering a suppressor for use on the AI AT-X. Now we see how long it takes to get AFT approval for an NFA trust.

Ordered a C.A.T. JL (Johnny Law) in titanium, no need for the Inconel version for a bolt gun. I might try it on a few M4’s but it’s not optimized for use on gas guns.

I only have one and can switch from .300 to .338 - took me a year but they say it’s way faster now

The owner of the shop I’m using in Rapid City said he is seeing individuals approved in 1-7 days on form 4’s and trusts in 2-3 weeks.

I will start with this .30 caliber full size suppressor and if I like it may add a dedicated 5.56mm can in Inconel that is more compact but can deal with an accelerated firing schedule. Hopefully get to go to some classes this fall or next spring, last one was a Pat McNamara carbine and pistol some years ago. Brush up on some old infantry skill sets, except less hateful on the muzzle blast front.
