11/15/25 - Spotted some corrosion forming on the brackets of my Westcott Designs Full Length Modular Roof Rack. The rest of the rack is fine, just the brackets. Will be reaching out to them after the holidays for a solution.

It sat in my hallway for about two months but today was the day. Easy assembly and 90 minutes total to install. Minimal jackassery. Although we're not sure how to use the beer openers. We're all covered in beer now.

Hey congratulations! Your 3/4 rack turned out great! Nice work. I didn't bother with the bottle openers, never had a need, and prefer the streamlined look without.

11/23/25 - Preparing for winter. Yakima FatCat EVO 6 Premium Ski & Snowboard Mount (8003096) installed.

12/07/25 - Windshield Silicone Strips installed. Top of drivers side strip didn’t want to stick, but a little dab of glue got it down. Cosmetically it looks great, but I did not notice any reduction in wind noise.

12/26/25, 12273 miles - First rock chip to the windshield on the lower driver corner that immediately formed a crack. Took a full day to arch to the bottom. Not planning to replace the windshield for this one.

01/02/26 - First door ding on front passenger side door. It's nasty. Most of the scuff buffed out, but the paint is scratched, and it’s dented at the body line. People fucking suck!

01/05/26 - Contact initiated with Westcott Designs regarding corrosion spotted on the roof rack brackets on 11/15/25. They said they will be sending new brackets.

01/19/26, 14,297 miles - Average lifetime gas mileage after 12 months and 9 days of use: 15.6 MPG (never reset)

02/17/26 - Received the replacement brackets from Westcott Designs. Planning to spray the new brackets with an extra layer of Rustoleum for additional corrosion protection before replacing.

02/22/26, 15,127 miles - 15k DIY Oil Change. Did not do the 5-way tire rotation because of recent surgery limiting how much weight I can carry.

May I ask why you ultimately landed on Westcott's roof rack vs the competition? I'm also curious what you're doing for rooftop storage long term, I'm wondering if I go pelican boxes or an alternative. Currently in the market for both.
