Does Anyone Use the Brake Hold Button?

Use it all the time. Used to shift left foot to the brake and have the right over gas ready to go, I'm honing my "christmas tree" skills at lights now =)

Use it all the time for daily city driving. Definitely a feature I didn't expect to use and like as much as I do.

Is there a way to persist this setting instead of turning it on every time I drive?

You need to buy the below kit for it to auto-engage each time you start your car (and put on your seatbelt). I drive an EV as well (with automatic brake hold) and enjoy taking my foot off the brake when at traffic lights.

Install requires the removal of some panels around the steering column and shifter area, but I installed it on my GX in a dark parking lot in about 20 min. Disengages like normal when you press the button.

I use it all the time, daily.

I did have it bite me once though going through an auto-carwash. I forgot I had it on, hit the brakes to put the car in Neutral...the conveyor rollers just kept running under my tires but the LC wouldn't budge. I panicked and could not get the damn function disabled. They had to pause the carwash until I slowed my stupid brain down enough to push the brake pedal in and disengage it.

I too use it all the time and wish it was persistently on like my last vehicle. Too bad you can't adjust that like all the other options through the dealership or that OBD tool.

I never used it, guess I shoudl try it sometime.
Just don't do as I did....... at a stop light, reached without looking and pressed the button......... only it wasn't the "Hold" button. I pressed the "park" button instead, kinda panicked a sec before I realized you have to press the brake pedal then the park button for it to release

Lol - One of those things that would be easy to do but I would throw you off for a bit until you realize it.

Some manufacturers allow the brake hold to be on continuously from drive to drive, others don't.

I had a look around GTS+ to see if the factory service software would allow that change to make it continuously and I could not find anything.

My LC is not my daily (my daily allows for continuously enabled brake hold), so every time I get into the LC and come up to my first stop, I begin to slowly roll as I take my foot off the brake and that reminds to enable the brake hold feature.

Everybody is talking about using it in traffic, which I do, but pretty sure it was designed for off road, so that it would hold the vehicle in place why the driver assesses the situation.

Mine is on all the time and I got the same kit from Amazon JP and I agree the installation is pretty straightforward.

I'm thinking it was developed for people who park on a hill and are a "one foot" driver, to avoid rolling backwards or forwards when 1st departing. While for most of us this isn't an issue, I could see if I lived in San Francisco it might be a thing.
