Does Anyone Use the Brake Hold Button?

I'm thinking it was developed for people who park on a hill and are a "one foot" driver, to avoid rolling backwards or forwards when 1st departing. While for most of us this isn't an issue, I could see if I lived in San Francisco it might be a thing.
As someone who has at times driven a manual transmission FJ and before that Toyota Pickup in SF, you need all the help you can get!

Everybody is talking about using it in traffic, which I do, but pretty sure it was designed for off road, so that it would hold the vehicle in place why the driver assesses the situation.
That definitely may be one of the uses, but my last vehicle, a Volvo, had it, and I definitely wouldn't take that thing off road.

I think that’s probably why it’s on this vehicle. I had it on my BMW 530 E and that damn thing was barely getting up driveways, it sure wasn’t going off-road. But I think the way this thing is stripped down that it’s for crawling. You don’t have to have your foot on the break to look and see where you’re at.

The first thing I do when I get in the car is turn it on. I also hate having to turn it on every time, but it's the same in our 2021 Volvo.

It took a bit of getting used to when we first got the Volvo, but I like that I can immediately step on the gas as soon as the light turns, instead of having to take my foot off the brake first, since I'm a one-foot driver.

My husband, on the other hand, has been too scared to use it since he almost ran me over in the Volvo when I was pregnant. He engaged it, stopped, forgot it was on and thought he was in Park, but then for some reason also pressed the gas? Luckily I was standing more off to the side of the car and he reacted quickly to brake so no harm done.

If I get brave enough, maybe I'll pick up that kit and my husband will just have to disengage it every time he drives my car.
