I have a 2000 LC I’ve owned for 21 years. It has ~ 303k miles; purchased at 5 years old with 48k. I love it! The ABS module needs to be replaced. OEM part is almost $2200! Is OEM necessary?
Input please.

Have you checked on rebuilding it, allot of places online states they rebuild them.

Well, you're talking about brakes. Your life depends on it.
Would you jump out of a plane with a cheap parachute of unknown origin?
Cheap(er) aftermarket parts are OK if the only consequence is Check Engine light. But if the difference is being able to stop vs. hitting something while going 70 mph on a highway, $2,200 dollars is a small price to pay compared to hospital or funeral bills.

I'd def look at online salvage parts and sometime you can determine if parts from a different model are the same part etc........ as an example rear door hatch switch/button on the dash is the same exact switch used on the Matrix and is a tenth of the price as the for an LC
