2025 Land Cruiser windshield

Had my windshield replaced by Safelite last week. No it's NOT an OEM Toyota windshield but wasn't forced to wait who knows how long to get one.

Can’t see it with camera, but a rock hit the windshield and made hairline crack from top to about 3/4 way down in center. Went to the dealership parts department, they checked the computer, 26 in the warehouse, ordered yesterday, will be here tomorrow and getting it installed tomorrow.

We are also trying to resolve our replacement front windshield: with both Toyota and the Insurance company

We have two large cracks running from top to bottom on each side: driver and passenger, this happened three weeks ago

The only replacement available is from Toyota - OEM

Reading this forum and taking to Toyota service; the windshield seems to be on backorder - no good answers on a time line

The cost of removal and installation, the new accessories needed, and the recalibration is significant - estimated total ~$3900

hopefully, we will have this resolved in a reasonable amount of time

I think the backlog of OEM windows has been cleared- I had mine replaced over the summer and it was only a few days wait. I got an OEM window.

I bought the coverage from the dealer also, it was through a third party... (Not Crystalfusion)

They took my claim info over the phone and had me take a few pictures of the damage and send to them. A day or so later a Safelite rep called to setup an appointment to bring it into the closest safelite center.

I was pretty happy with it, the calibration seems to have been fine. The only bad point was that the tech that did the install used some crappy double sided tape to put the OEM dash cam back on the windshield and it fell after a couple weeks. I just scraped/cleaned the crappy stuff off and replaced it with 3m VHB

Rock into my windshield.

Well, it didn't take long. I have had my LC a little over a year and I had a rock thrown into my windshield and has caused a crack to start. I took it to a glass repair shop to see if it could be repaired but they told me the crack was too long. The folks at the glass repair shop told me to try...

Once I took photos of the damage, the VIN Plate etc. and sent them in, I heard from Safelight scheduling the next day. They setup an appointment a week out.

However the day after that, they called to cancel it and said it would be 2-3 weeks before a OEM replacement was available due to national backorder.

So we will see, and just like browsing this accessories page where having the right options available when you need them matters, if it ends up taking longer than 2 to 3 weeks I will call Toyota Brand Engagement as some others on here have done and there are a few threads about this on here.

My state inspection is not due until November so I have some time.

Five months is excessive. Skip the dealer and go straight to an independent auto glass shop as they source through different suppliers and can likely get you an aftermarket windshield much faster. Also call the manufacturer directly and escalate as five months without a windshield repair is grounds for a formal complaint.

Backlog is cleared I had mine replaced in a day at the dealer with a toyota windshield.
