These Wera small socket sets are really nice. Combine it in a small pull bag with some pliers and zip ties etc. if you want to build out a lightweight kit you can also carry around a camp site, or on an ATV etc. There are cheaper brand equivalents if you don't want something that premium.

They've bounced around with me across 3 different vehicles for almost 100,000 miles.

Have you seen these? They are the same strong, durable construction as a "traditional" milk crate with 50% more capacity. The old-school ones will stack on top as well since they have the same dimensions, depth-wise.

I bolt one of down to the plywood cargo platform I built and use a strong velcro strap to hold my Anker 768WH Power Station in place so it doesn't bounch around.
