The European Land Cruiser commercial only comes with a 100watt inverter.

I am looking at upgrading that to either a Bluetti charger 1 (560 watt) or a Bluetti 2 (800 watt) alternator charger. Which one would you recommend and what issues would it present?

Many thanks

Edit: My comment was poorly worded.
Alternators have limits on how much power you can use-some DC to DC chargers have the capability to draw more than the alternator will deliver.
Additionally, the device the charger is sending power to have limits.
So match the charger to your use and equipment.

Disregard the following babble.

I do not know what 'limits' the LC has, you are correct to check this out as some DC to DC chargers can deliver more than some vehicles can take. In other words you can overbuy with no benefit.

When you say "upgrading" are you talking about the actual inverter or adding a power station and the "upgrade" would be the ability to charge the new power station?

I'm not familiar with the Euro spec LC but most inverters run off a battery power source and the size/capacity of that power source determines the size and output of the inverter that can be used etc........ So if the Euro spec has a fairly large hybrid battery it might be possible to install a higher output inverter, but my limited research of the Bluetti 2 reveals it's a charger vs an inverter and my question would be, hat are you charging?

Some European trims, like mine, are strictly non-hybrid: pure, smelly dinosaur-juice propulsion. Yet they still come with a little 100W mains socket in the trunk, so you can shave or brush your teeth while stuck in traffic or when camping somewhere. Anything beefier would mean rewiring the whole car, re-fusing it, and reworking the thermal management.

So no, you can't run your espresso machine off it.

Understood........ so a better charger really isn't gaining anything.

Now if you had a power bank and wanted to use the DC/DC charger....... that makes sense.

Pretty sure yours is a GDJ250, the 2.8 D-4D with the 8-speed auto. Every commercial 250 I can find in Europe is that engine, the UK Commercial and the N1 "teretno" ones in Croatia and around.

What I can't tell is whether yours has the Hybrid 48V. Toyota Hrvatska launched it in 2025, but I can't find anything saying if the N1 got it, so a 2025 could go either way. The 48V is still a GDJ250 too, so the code alone won't settle it. And the 100 W outlet doesn't help either, both versions get the same one.

It’s key to your options and decision, because on the 48V the 12V side runs off a DC-DC converter, not a normal alternator. That converter is what limits how much a 560–800 W alternator charger can pull.

If you’re unsure, you can confirm:
  1. Any "Hybrid 48V" badge on it?
  2. The full model code off the manufacturer's label would confirm it (and help me with my research project to document the Land Cruiser variants around the world), probably starts GDJ250L-… Should be on the lower driver's side B-pillar. Mine for example is TJH250L-GNZAZA

Yes, the first 250 on sale where non hydrid, since end 2025 the hybrid version is the only available.

For those who think the LC250 is expensive, check the Norway price here 1'974'900.- kr roughly 196'000USD....
