Totaled?

With all of the variables possible with insurance, you won’t know until you get into the fine print on your policy. Your insurance will process and subrogate the claim for the other party’s insurer.
This is true.
Presuming the vehicle that hit you is insured and not denying liability/coverage, you can work directly with that company and not involve your own carrier.
This will ensure you don't get a claim history mark on your own record. And this is a negative mark even if the claim is fully subrogated.

Insurance companies have there own methods. Making profits is the goal to themselves and shareholders. They place your interest as 3rd in the equation. So do your own due diligence so they don't hose you... Since subrogation will be the move based on this situation if the drive does have insurance. Hold out for the best deal for YOU...

Last post on this. Been busy w work and all but our insurance finally declared it a total loss. Paid out what was left on the note and gave us a fair amount on top of that. Denied first offer and sent them comparables but they didn’t shift. So we went ahead and got wifey a new TRD ORP 4Runner in Underground color because we needed something now. It’s a pretty cool car and shout out to Toyota Cedar Park for helping us. Will roll with it a few years and trade for another cruiser. Thanks as well to everyone who chimed in on this post. It was all helpful and we learned a lot. Since I put on her old tires/wheels I’m gonna post for sale the Lexus 550OT wheels and tires I took off my LC. Life goes on!
