Tire Upgrade ?

This is a good point. So with too much time on my hands to obsess about my LC arriving, I created a comparison sheet for tires I'm looking at with specs that include the actual diameter and rim width requirement. Sharing in case others find it helpful.View attachment 1895
Great list! Such a bummer we don't get more Load C and D options in these sizes.

Post some prices also. Some of these tires are more than 33% more by going up one size. Most of you guys are not going even close to off-road. That’s a lot to spend for a pavement princess.

Also, some of the sizes and load limits don’t exist for some off these brands.

A search of the KO3’s on discount tire show only the 265s are available.

Why do people think they know what I am going to do with my vehicle and how I am going to drive it?

The reality is that aesthetics is a big part of tire upgrades. People may not go to a more aggressive or larger tire for any purpose other than it giving the vehicle a more bad ass look. And if you are spending this kind of money on a new vehicle, you can probably afford to get the nice rims and tires.
AND I hope a bunch of people do it and post pics, because this is kind of like Land Cruiser porn for me! 🤣🤣

Sizes below straight from BFGoodrich website. My local tirestore has all the sizes I showed available through their distributer (ADT).

Have we met? Pavement princess?! And if you want prices posted, go for it. I'm just posting the info I wanted, in case other people find it helpful. If you don't, then just move on.

Another way of looking at it is even though I can afford the shiny new rims and tires, the first time I go off road and they get all scratched and gouged because of the rocks. I’m really gonna be heartbroken Pictures of the Land Cruiser going off road and having fun is Land Cruiser porn to me. 🤣🤣🤣

If one decides to go to a 34" tire (an increase of 1 1/2 inch from stock) will it require a transmission recalibration?

That's awesome! What tire are you leaning towards?

Are you concerned about the weight of the tire at all? I've been going back and forth between the KO3 and A/T4w.

KO3 275/70r18 - 60 pounds
A/T4w 275/70r18 - 54 pounds

I’m currently deciding between the Wildpeaks and Open Country. I live in the PNW and read too many bad reviews about KO2 performance on wet roads, not sure if KO3 improved this. The weight is one factor for me, the Wildpeaks come in heavier for the sizes I’m looking at.

who makes a 275/80/18 all terrain tire that is not E rated and not like a michelin Ltx no tread , looks like a highway tire.
Falken , BFG, Toyo, Nitto , don't seem to have one.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the new K03s are any better on wet pavement. Check out the video below at about the 17:30 mark for a real-world test of the new K03s on wet pavement. He doesn't a bunch of drifting around earlier in the video as well, but comments on the tires about the 17:30 into the video.
