Thinking of Trading LC First Edition for LX 700h Overtrail

See, we do agree on a lot of stuff. Glad you are finally seeing my sarcastic side....LC250 is a shocking success for Toyota, no doubt. Folks that are conquest sales like myself out of uber specced vehicles is telling, no? I have experienced that realm and feel comfortable letting go of it....just don't diss my Alfas.

I dated a woman who worked at a Toyota dealership (internet sales/marketing, this is the early 2000-teens) and she got sneaky and put in a request for an allotment (Toyota dealers cannot order vehicles) of a LC200 that was coming in (they can see how many are on the ship). They came in batches. The sales manager goes ballistic, "we will never sell this thing! This thing is like $80k" (fwiw, there was a pretty large mark up on the LC's).
So I go to pick her up for lunch and the manager corners me about buying it, he flat out tells me he won't sell it for invoice. I tell him to GF'd. Some doctor bought it before it even arrived, full MSRP, and terrible financing (guy had horrible credit). Yeah, they don't sell lol. I never liked the LX version, or anything out of Lexus, the GX460 and 550 are winners though.
I got to TD it, just around the block. Then I TD another in 2019, still didn't like it. Overseas, they are fantastic, I'm sure other parts of the US they are fantastic... DD in FL, not fantastic lol. Savage Geese has a pretty good YT review of the LC200, they are spot on. I still want one, but not for the going prices. The 4R and LC250 are much better vehicles for the US market.
A buddy in Thailand just bought a 300, there is a substantial wait for them. I think he may have changed his mind to a Hilux.
Long winded, off tangent post aside, Toyota knew the market and made sure not to bring in more than they knew they could sell. They may have not even had the ability to manufacture more for the US market anyway. You can't throw a rock in Africa or the ME w/o hitting a LC200.

if you've never had a lex LC, consider the move very carefully. I couldn't tell myself it was 'just a 100' when I had my LX. just bugged me all the badging. personal hang up. if you may have it, be forewarned that for some (me) it did not ever wane. food for thought.
I was just at the Lexus dealer today because I was curious about the LX700h OT but they only had the Luxury trim in and it was a beautiful truck but it had 22" wheels and it was massive. Also, only the OT comes with front and rear lockers.
I don't think I would feel comfortable driving something that big and that expensive on a trail....ever. It was cool to see it in person because it popped the G.A.S. bubble that was being created in my psyche. It is a very nice truck but for me the LCFE is great for my needs and use. It's also about $40k less expensive than the LX. But hey, everyone needs to get what works for them. I would drive the LC300 version for sure and probably would have considered purchasing one had they been available. But I'm good with my Prado.

You might consider doing more research on the V6 Twin Turbo due to engine failure risks. While a separate major engine bearing recall covers 2022–2024 LX models. The twin turbo V6 appears to have issues across a lot of platforms including the LX, GX, and Tundra.
The GX and the LX share the same powertrain, both use a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 (often referred to as a V35A-FTS).
I was on the fense between a 2024 Lexus GX550 Overtrail plus and a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser, the issues with the V35A-FTS was a big factor in my decision to choose the Land Cruiser.
Since OP made this post more than 6 months ago I would bet they’ve made a decision.
