Roof Rack dilemmas

Thanks Gregh, that’s a fully comprehensive list of rack options!
You guys are so lucky with what you can buy in the States, the choices here in the UK are pretty limited in comparison. We can get ARB and Front Runner gear plus a few others.

I’m really surprised how high the panoramic sunroof goes when opened (2.25”) - do you have this sunroof on the First Edition or Premium spec cars in the US? I wonder if anyone has experience with which racks work with that sunroof?
I ordered this from Peak 4x4 recently, it's due to be delivered this week. Sounds like it might be similar to what you're looking for. It's an Australian company so check the shipping rates. I thought the price point for the rack was competitive. Link

Does anyone have the Victory 4x4 cross bars on their 250 now?
They look about perfect for what I want, but look like they could be loud too.
Have 3 of the victory cross bars and road noise seems less than the mirrors, but for sure a little noisier than not having them.

This set-up looks great and seems super functional for what I'm looking for. I also don't need a full length roof rack but would like crossbars on my 1958 for surfboards, SUP's, etc..... are these the Thule WingBar EVO's?
Thanks! Yes, they're WingBar EVO's in size 53. 50 works too, but I wanted just a bit more overhang as I have an awning that connects to the bar on the outside of the risers. With a 53 there's roughly 3-4" on the outside of the risers, but still not wider than the car (pictured).

Thanks Cary, this looks great and I love all the extras they do at very reasonable pricing. I fear I’m going to have the same problem with the panoramic sunroof which I’m pretty certain will hit this rack when opened and definitely would require the front wind deflector to be removed which probably has noise issues. Only the front half of the sunroof retracts but that part is the same size as the standard sunroof and rises just above the top of the OEM side rails when fully open.
Not an easy decision to make without knowing how it fits…….. I might have to just never open the sunroof!!!

Will be interested to hear what you think of the fit and quality when your rack arrives. Also what did they want for shipping costs to the States? I priced up the rack and a few extras (side box, ladder and roof storage boxes + brackets) and it’s circa USD1,500 to ship to the UK. I’m sure they can do better than that.

Oh, I apologize. I missed your comment about your dual pane panoramic sunroof. That's really cool, I didn't realize LC's offered that. My all in price was $987 USD delivered (rack only). The day after I ordered I received a message saying the "system" misquoted the shipping and it would go from $140 USD to between $300-$400 USD. I objected and they stuck with the previous shipping cost. That's why I suggested to watch the shipping if you like the product.

The rack was supposed to be delivered today, but it seems to be delayed, considering it's 9:30pm here. I'm traveling for work this week but will let you know about the quality when I return and get it installed.

Thanks, that’s interesting on the shipping costs. I suspect the online ordering tool was adding a full cost per item when it came to $1500 and they could do way better than that if asked.
Anyway I need to work out the heights and whether I value the sunroof opening!
Look forward to hearing what you think of yours when it arrives. Safe travels!

Were you able to get this installed? If so any feedback?

Yes, I just recently got it installed due to a long wait for roof channel moldings (long story, not related to the rack itself). The rack is very nice, looks great and is exactly what I wanted. It doesn't make any more wind noise than the original crossbars did.

BUT, I was uneducated on duties which cost me an extra ~$400 shipping from AUS (nothing to do with tariffs) so the price was not competitive overall. I learned from another forum member that eBay has a rack that looks to be the exact the same product, just without the Peak badge and it appears to ship within the US, for free. Link
I would have bought that one in a second. Hopefully someone will benefit from my experience.

"As an eBay Associate we earn from qualifying purchases." - I don't know why this is automatically added, I don't sell anything on eBay.

I’m waiting to see Kuat’s new roof dek. DEK™

I went with OEM
Do you have a part number for this? It looks like my wife's rack on her Sequoia, and more in line with what I wanted. I thought the OEM rack was a bolt-on in lieu of the OEM rails, didn't know there was a "both" option. Thanks.

Believe it’s the GX550 rack. Careful, there’s two versions, one for the rails and one straight to the roof that will not work on the LC.

I dug into your previous comments and saw the distinction. Thanks for the past legwork on this, I am thinking this is the way I want to go.

Edit, thought you were the one I commented on originally. Appreciate it anyway

Too easy! I learned the hard way when I bought the wrong version! On the bright side, I’m selling a GX550 rack for stupid cheap, just has to be for a GX550!

Good luck! I love this look, and I like the removability of it. If it’s anything like my wife’s quoia, it’s probably loud as hell >60mph

Thanks, these low profile racks look ideal but my Invincible model 250 has the panoramic sunroof (see photos) which lifts 2.25” when opened. It sits just proud of the side rails so no chance of having the short rack with the front wind deflector.

I guess I will have to take a full length rack and sadly not a nice low profile one………..

@Strad to answer your question which trims get the panoramic sunroof in N.American models. Unfortunately, no trim of the LC250 here in N. America offers a panoromic sunroof. We only get eithrer no sunroof or regular sunroof.

What is the Front Wind Deflector you mentioned? Can you show some pics.
