Looking at various videos and searching here I was not able to find what I was looking for.

I have new to me Westcott roof rack that I traded for my OEM roof rails and cross bars.

1: Does the Rack of purchased new come with a PPF strip to install under the fairing lip?
2: If it does come with a PPF strip or not has anyone used a PPF strip under the lip? I ask because is it ok to have the faring lips rubber rub on it? Would it be worse on the paint vs the just the rubber strip touching the paint?
3: The rack does seem slightly adjustable for the all around gap across the entire roof length. The current gap appears to be just fine but is there a recommended gap amount between the roof and the bottom rails? I am asking because when off roading is the a possibility of flexing and body movement that might create a rubbing contact between the rack and body?

We really do like the rack and think it’s going to suite our needs when traveling to carry the extra items we take and also pick up along the way on our travels.

Congrats on your Westcott rack. Looks great. Enjoy it.

1. Mine did not come with PPF, I purchased new Feb 2025.
2. I do not use PPF, my fairing lip rubber does not touch my paint.
3. The gap on my rails is the same all the way around, I assume as low as it will go. I do not have any evidence of my rack contacting the body while off road.
