Reverse Lights
Installed a reverse light mod on our ‘26 LC this weekend. Was frustrated w/ rear lighting, especially when hooking up a trailer. Wanted something that would be safe from not getting torn off off-road. Some vendors just seem focused on light pods, versus integrated lighting. It turned out very bright & effective. Simple system using KC Cyclone V2 lights on the lower receiver hitch, & a harness kit off the 7-pin to get power for reverse lights. Lights are very low flat profile so tow chains shouldn’t bother them. Lighting turned out better than I expected, & mounting location looks good during the day as well.

  • Required using the LC 1/2 diaper hitch cover.
  • Used (2) KC 5w Cyclone V2 lights (KC6333 2-light kit) as the light sources. Lights came out super bright. I also have (4) Cyclones under the LC in place of the Premium step rail lights, & the reverse signal provides much more voltage than that location.
  • KC dual Magnetic kit (KC1372) is used on the Cyclones & fit great. The magnet easily mounts w/ screws onto the Cyclones V2. When installed takes over 24# of force to move - the lights don’t move once mounted.
  • Requires a 7-pin harness adapter that provides a clean way to get the reverse signal, without any splicing the OE harness. You unplug the OE trailer harness out of the OE 7-pin trailer connector, then plug this harness snaps directly in place in between them for reverse power leads w/o splicing the factory harness. Found $29 version on Amazon & also weatherproof connections.
  • Used a OE style connector to connect lights to the 7-pin adapter.

Great light output @ dusk.

Dramatic improvement in lighting behind LC - even w/ receiver pin/lock & recovery gear on hitch.

Security/Rock Light
I already have (4) V2 Cyclones rock lights under the vehicle that replaced the Premium pkg step rail lighting for security lights. While I was under the LC I got another Cyclone V2 light & magnetic mount & placed it under the receiver hitch for light shining straight down helping illuminate when loading the LC @ night. Wired it into the existing step rail wiring connection under the drivers side. The magnets KC uses are ridiculously strong. The 5 lights give decent coverage under the vehicle. The stock step rail lighting is a total joke.

I like your idea and just about ready to install reverse lights, but could you elaborate more on T-harness connection so I can understand better how it works.

It’s a pre-made t-harness. You unplug the factory trailer harness connector out of the OE trailer connector, then plug the t-harness into the trailer connector & LC wiring harness. It operates in between.

Allows you to get power leads off of the factory trailer connector without splicing into it.

Thank you!

It looks you added a third cyclone pointing down. Is it controlled separately?

Yes sir, it’s wired to the under-vehicle lighting for the Step Rail light circuit. The 5 lights act as rock lights, but I’m using the step rail circuit for security illumination when ingress/egress at night.
