Regenerative Charging - Coasting Feel

Same here regarding the want of a real-time indicator when you’re using the regenerative braking vs friction braking. I get the feeling it's mostly regen braking because my brake calipers look showroom clean and there is no brake dust on my front wheels. I've gotten use to the car slowing itself down when approaching another car.
Activate the brake display. When in regen, the light doesn't come on

When you press the brake pedal, it is regen braking upto some point, and brake lights do come on. Regen braking is not only applied when coasting.

Ah the PDA, that might explain why the self-braking can be very aggressive at times even in the complete absence of pedestrians
This is an interesting point that I haven't considered. I hate electronic nannies and I don't need the car to tell me how to drive it. So I've kept PDA off ever since I got the car. Does this mean the car doesn't do any regen when coasting? And the only regen I get is through braking? That could be why my battery has never reached more than half charge. But on the other hand, with PDA off, I've had very smooth braking and ICE-like coasting. I live in a flat area, so downhill engine braking is not really a concern for me.

No.

Hmm, on my now departed Audi SQ-5 if I used cruise control on steep mountain downgrades it worked great. Then at 55,000 miles I found the rear brakes were shot. Apparently the cruise activated only the rear brakes if engine retardation wasnt enough. There was no brake light on the dash like the LC.
I wonder if the LC also uses only rear braking.
On really steep grades I manually shift to 1st or 2nd and still need to apply breaking. At least I know all 4 brakes are being used.
