Plomor LC250——Wide Body Fender Flares

I think I prefer #1 in the renders. Keeps the front end aggressive. Maybe biased as I do own the prior design.

Plomor Kit with LT275/70R-18 KO3, Enkei RPT1, 0 offset, no lift yet. Very slight front bumper interior corner trimming with a 0 offset wheel. Kit fits up perfectly, once I found the clips taped to a bag in the box. Front mudflaps had to be cut down quite a bit with that offset too.

Likewise

It will probably go up slightly
For a few more ounces of material? Everyone’s feedback was that the product would be good at the price point if you fixed the design.

The adjustment covers the mold development costs, not just the raw materials. However, it will still stay in the same price range, so no major jumps.

Sounds good, but honestly, the price seems a bit too high for just six pieces of plastic, IMHO!

Price increase! Will the beta testers who bought the first version get a discount on buying the fixed version 2?

While I do agree and dont understand the pricing myself. In comparison to the others that are available (NyTop) these are much less expensive and not at all comparable to the cheaper one that use 3M tape to stick on.

If you have a 1958, I personally like the upgrade to the OEM flare but it’s not quite as wide as these and OEM will cost you a few hundred more also. So all
Around the price according to what’s on the market is fair.

Plastics these days must have platinum in it. Because it’s all $$$$

I'm have zero skin in this game, but have some manufacturing experience, so just some thoughts and a tangent on the topic.

Plastic is cheap, but to injection mold pieces of plastic that size, it takes a die set about the size of your kitchen counter. Since all four flares are different, it takes 4 of those die sets. Actually six die sets, and four can be smaller since the back doors are in two pieces each. Or it could be one larger die set that does all six pieces in one shot. But that's a more complex and expensive die also.

You're not paying for the plastic, but the tooling and design that goes into them. Since these are a relatively niche product, there's probably not millions sold so it would be priced accordingly to pay back all that up-front cost.

I'm actually not sure how these products aren't more expensive. Each of these die sets could easily be $10k+. They must be planning on selling quite a few of these flares at least.

Or maybe there's some other mfg method or economics here I'm unaware of. 🤷‍♂️
If someone has more insight I'd be interested to learn.

Here's a pic of half a die set for a car bumper. Of course fender flare tooling would be less complex and smaller, but it's not nothing.

I had the older version, and I do like it. It is well made to me.
For the price, I think it is fair $700-$800 ($600-$700 now) ! I am not trying to defend for Plomor, but feel unfair for them. I have no relationship with them…purely just a customer and appreciate their efforts and designs

NYTOP price starts from $1,400 to $2,100. WTH !

I would be happy to honor the 10% new customer discount for returning forum members on their next purchase.
That's a great offer on the best set of aftermarket flares made for these IMO. The other, much more expensive brand has lots of QC complaints and costs 3x as much.
