I’m guessing you didn’t already have the JBL tweeters etc because of it being a 1958.

This is my truck, a Land Cruiser 1958, and this was one of the best upgrades I’ve done.


The 1958 trim doesn’t come with JBL in the pillars, and the stock head unit is small—so I installed a 12” screen.


The best part? It keeps all the OEM functions.

I dug into the link he provided last night. It is a Cartrimhome head unit. I'd never heard of them, and the reviews are all over the place. I already hate the idea of losing a physical on/off/mut/volume button, and the lack of verifiable details IRT "retained OEM functionality" in a generically branded head unit that controls so much of the vehicle... big old hell no from me.

I started to see this post pop up in other groups and it set off a red flag for me. I just went through an extensive audio upgrade and learned more than I wanted to about Toyota/JBL electronics. This unit looks like a low cost/quality alternative destined to give one issues. Couple this with a lack of posts...and draw your own conclusions.
