OTA UPDATE?

They had no idea. One guy was trying to convince me it was a setting, but we know that’s not the case. Can’t stand trying to change the radio or Sirius channel.

Definitely not a setting..

I looked around on GTS+ many times to try and find a way to update the screen.. There’s no official “calibration” from Toyota for any LC250 screen yet..
I do have the 2025 LC model and I already have the carplay sidebar but I’m just trying out of curiosity as I see new units at the dealership with a higher software version than mine. (Not sure what they changed, probably some bug fixes as I cant find new features).

For example my unit is version 2230 while newer cars at the dealership are at 2250.
The Instrument cluster on mine is version 1002 while newer cars are at version 2000.

It seems that so far it’s not possible to update the software version unless you replace your screen with a newer one.. Hopefully toyota will release an update but I doubt that they will unless it’s part of a recall or a safety concern..

Is it safe to assume that the OTA updates that some members here were getting are only map updates and not software updates?

Connect it to your home wifi or your phone if you can hotspot. Beyond that it'll eventually call home or the server will push an update

Just to clarify, no updates available or they won’t update? I’m in a similar predicament. All I want is the sidebar for CarPlay so o don’t have to tap 4 traps just to access a radio station.

I’ve counted as many as 6 taps, depending on what state your radio is in and where the temporary “Toyota” app sits among your other apps in CarPlay. And that’s not counting the additional taps to get back to the CarPlay map I might be using.

It could be 10 or 12 seconds with eyes off the road at 75 MPH. I think it’s unsafe and should be a recall.

Interestingly in the last few weeks my wife's 2023 Highlander got an update that adds the option of the sidebar on her display. Hoping this is a good sign for the LC.
