So strange stuck on 1810. Do you need to leave the hotspot on to do the OTA?
I'm not certain. It does say that the Landcruiser needs to be connected to a WiFi or a Cellular network. Since mine is brand new...i get 30 days of WiFi connect. Perhaps that is why I got an update?

Ok service shows up but app is slow.

I haven’t activated the the wifi connect service, yet I saw the update screen a couple of days ago twice. Guess it will eventually update once it fully downloads.

HU version 1710 for me with “no updates available”. Have an appointment next week for a “DCM firmware update”.

There have been no updates for the head unit on the 2024 models. Any of these phantom updates that you appear to be getting may only be map related.

That would have been my guess as well, the screen looked more like map updates.

May I ask how you know for sure?

I had A 2022 Lexus for two years and in that two years, it only received one update. When you receive an update, it notifies you that an update is available and ask you if you want to do it now or later. When the update happens, you will know it. It takes a bit of time, maybe 20 minutes or so. At least that was my experience with the Lexus.

Also on the Toyota, you can go into an information page which should show you all the version numbers that are installed. There’s a bunch of different components and I’m not sure all of what they are or what they do, but people have posted them here and in other areas, and the numbers have not changed as far as version numbers

In case you have not realized it, Toyota is one of the slowest companies to adapt to new technology. This new multimedia experience has been around since 2022 and has not changed at all across any of their vehicle lines.

This is my first foray into Toyota (Japanese vehicles all together) and I knew that Toyota was slow with the tech, I did not realize that they were that slow.

BMW which is the brand that I am most familiar with is somewhat faster, in the G chassis generation (latest) BMW has gotten a lot better with updates that are released to owners directly.

Before the G chassis generation, updates were plentiful, but they had to be done at the dealer and it was always a PITA to get to the dealer to do one because it required keeping the car overnight and taking up a bay.

I ended up buying a BMW ICOM NEXT (J2534 passthrough) and a subscription to ISTA (BMW Factory Software) and flashing updates myself.

When I have a free minute, I will look into Toyota GTS+ and see if there are any infotainment updates available for my LC.
