OME BP51 Install

What settings are people running their bp51 at? If had them installed for a week and thinking of upping the compression one notch. Thanks.
I left mine at factory settings (C0, R4) for a couple weeks also and then did exactly as you’re thinking.
Been running compression at 1 for a few months and it’s better for general driving. I do almost no freeway driving, but have been thinking taking compression up a bit more would be better for that.
I plan to go back to C0 again for off road.

I’m going to have to double check but I think mine came at compression 4 rebound 0. I may have had it backwards.

I’m running mine compression right between 8 and 9, rebound at 6, for both front and rear

I have the bp51 3”-0 kit I’m planning on installing myself along with OMU UCAs
Front will be @ minimum height (I believe 1.75” from OME factory)

How bad will the vehicle drive after the lift and before the alignment, I might have to drive it around town for a day u til I can schedule an alignment

One shop quoted me over $4k for install
The other quoted me $750

Figured I’ll do it myself, I lifted and aligned my 80 series so the

My install was $1,000 including UCA, full kit, rear springs, and alignment. The shop at $4k is nuts.

Unless something is really out of whack I think you’d be fine for 1 day

You'll be fine with the install yourself.
Alignment should be pretty close with the new UCAs, so should be fine to drive it a bit. The UCAs won't help with the extra toe-in from the lift, but that won't be a big deal for a day or so either.

Do it. It's cake.

Does anyone know what the BP51 ride height/preload comes set at from ARB.
I've learned not to trust the ARB USA customer service.

ine was 3 inches in the front. I had my shop lower it as far as possible and ended right about 1.75 inches of raise. I used the icon dual rate spring in the rear to give a slight rake.

Thanks!
Your rear icon dual rate spring is factory hight (edit: they are 2")? I'm planning on using my factory rear springs then lowering the front BP51 to the 1.75 setting, will this be nose down or level?
I also ordered the Dobinson rear coil spring spacer 15mm/0.6" to maintain rake if needed. I plan on installing the Dobinson 1" rear lift springs when they become available, then possibly running the front @ 2" height (looking to maintain some rake)

My original plan was to use the stock spring. Pre-install my LC front lift was 20 1/2 and rear lift was 21.5/22 (center of hub to fender). The 1.75 inch lift would have put it nose high.

My shop suggested they could do a spacer in the rear but I wanted to avoid that. Why spend all the money on the suspension and then cheap out at the last second. I was going to go with the arb 0-200 spring but the shop suggested the icon dual rate spring as they thought the arb spring might be a little harsh as it is designed for some load and 59% of the time my truck is unloaded. I went with their suggestion and have been happy.

The control arm bolts require a bit of trickery.
I've ordered OME BP51 shocks and am considering having the shop replace the upper control arms at the same time. They've quoted 3 hours of labor, apparently based on their LC200 experience, as they're not fully familiar with the procedure on the LC250. Could you share how you removed the long bolt and what complications to expect?

Does the quote include alignment.

Yes, wheel alignment is included, but to be road legal in Switzerland, the vehicle also needs parts certification documents and must pass a technical inspection.

I decided to post my quote so you can see how tough it is for 4WD enthusiasts here. 7,000 CHF works out to about $8,900 USD—and that's with a special 15% discount I got for showing up during a promotional event.

Is everyone running these “stone guards”
Or are they getting tossed to the curb?
They don’t seem like they will last are they really necessary?

And........ how is the articulation compared to stock? No one ever wants to comment on this, and I had to press Jeff Westcott repeatedly before he finally succumbed and admitted that they "hadn't [actually] measured it" (re: the puck lift, which was claimed to have no effect, lol).

After spending 9 years in a 5th Gen and experiencing how much better the (stock) LC is offroad (it almost never lifts a wheel or slips), I believe that it is the articulation that allows it to climb like a goat. I'd like an inch lift for clearance reasons (any more and won't fit in garage), but I will wait for a solution that is confirmed to not decrease wheel travel.

I actually posted a video not too long ago, there seems to be virtually no articulation gained in the front, only slightly in the rear with a kit that utilizes extended shocks. Here's one after installing OME MT64's.

We also have this, which is an excellent video to watch if you plan on lifting an IFS rig.

The KAON video LC appears to not have SDM. Without SDM it will unlikely be able to fully flex out the suspension. Tinkerer's Adventure have a video on this subject.

I'm currently all stock as well but have plans for small upgrades in the future, when I get to it I'll try to do it scientifically with measurements and things
