The balance between designing something useful and designing something you can sell to profit is such a fineline. This is a fix for a problem that exists for a very specific niche; it covers the hitch receiver which is a key piece of recovery gear while offroading yet only protects a thin/narrow channel in the rear bumper.

Why not make a steel or aluminium piece that is a skid across the entire rear bumper? Well, it'd be more difficult, more expensive, but would be far more logical. You also would have to actually model it, instead of just scanning the OEM plastic piece and producing it out of steel.

If you're a tail dragger on rocks then it might make a little bit of sense, otherwise you're just adding weight and ascetics...... just my opinion tho'
