Has anyone modified the exhaust yet?

Not trying to make it sound like an angry bee or V-8 just more interested in weight reduction and tucking the exhaust up more.

It seems like dumping over the axle in an SUV is a bad idea? Increases the likelihood that exhaust gases may enter the vehicle? Not even sure if that setup is legal in some states.

I think it's in a pretty good spot, from TFL's Moab video it appears it just barely contacts when dragging the ass-end. So if you're dragging the tailpipe, you're likely dragging other stuff along with it.

No in my original post I said more interested in weight reduction and tucking it up a bit higher…. That civic is the “angry bee” sound….

Trail Recon on YT did a vid recently and he has a Magnaflow exhaust kit on his 250. It sounded ok and tucked it up higher for more clearance. On the Magnaflow site they have a placeholder for the system and says coming soon. I thought about it, but they have a $1,200 price listed for it so I'm out lol.

Ouch.... $1200 for what? I have a magna flow on my Jeep and it's nice.... not too loud and tucked up nice....but that's steep.

I’ve placed an order for the magna flow, lower weight, improved ground clearance, anti drone technology, slight power improvement, doesn’t sound like a Briggs and Stratton will know if all is true once it reaches. They’ve charged my CC already so hopefully soon.

I installed the AFE exhaust about a week ago. Hard not to sound like my high school Volkswagen that I punched a hole in the muffler. I’m not 100% certain I’ll leave it on.

I ordered the 3” but they sent me the wrong one (high clearance 2.5”) but not sure the extra half inch would make that big of a tone difference.

I mean let's be honest here. It's still a four banger so we won't be getting those V8 or even V6 tones that an aftermarket setup would deliver. The higher clearance and lighter weight might be cool but not $1,200.00 cool. Holy crap that's steep.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but really don't see how this 4cylinder engine will ever sound decent. Loud - sure. Good - I'm not so confident.

Better to have the mediocre tone stay muted with the stock exhaust imo.

My first official post after lurking around the rest of this place for a month or so.
I installed the new Magnaflow on my LC250 FE about two weeks ago. I couldn’t handle the stock sound any longer . The Install was easy ( we had a car lift), and it made a big improvement to the sound quality in my opinion. Running the vehicle in sport mode certainly is somewhat louder than before, but in eco mode on the freeway it’s hard to argue that it’s not quieter now. The new sound is lower and without knowing any of the science behind it, I’d say the anti-drone tech works.
As noted earlier, the tailpipe is now tucked way up under the vehicle and it’s virtually hidden from view unless you pull the upside-down head trick and get really low.
I’ve noticed no discernible difference in the vehicle’s function/performance other than I tend to put my foot into it more often because it sounds so much better now. I’m sure over a longer time set that will turn into lower mpg.
The $1200 was a hard one to swallow, but the little smile I make every time I start it or accelerate will pay that dough off fast.

It’s not about sound for me. It’s more about tucking things up and away and maybe saving a few pounds for other things.

For the Fast and Furious crowd, I noticed GReddy has (or will have?) an XROSS S-Style 304 stainless muffler for the 2.7L gas and 2.4L diesel LC250. Maybe it will fit other LC250 engines?

Magnaflow was awesome on my Jeeps. A bit deeper, tucked up, lighter and no drone. I’m not a fan of the $1200 bucks, but they are a quality exhaust.
