All dealer installed options, 35” tires, wescott leveling kit, skid plates. I tinted the front windows and mounted Rigid ditch lights. I’ve been exploring a larger fuel tank option and going back to factory sized rubber.
Yeah, none of that seems like it would have caused any problems.
Get rid of it. Life is too short!!!
The 35's do put some strain on the drive train. With a new rig, dependent on usage, maybe a factor. New gears run tight.
I think you hit on something important, my dealer did a VERY mediocre job finally fixing the front wheel squeal-brake pad issue (after Toyota released a TSB)- I don't think they're good at service/support- especially on new vehicles.... maybe they have gotten complacent with reliability
This I agree 100%! All depends on the prompts. Like I said, some info out there suggest one thing, some another. The parts content sticker saying engine and transmission parts from Japan seem to be the definitive answer.
Anywho, feel bad for anyone out there that has had a major issue. Hope Toyota take care of you.
Agree, with uncertainty in the markets and tariffs. New strategies may be underway. If Toyota were smart. They should be shipping quickly parts and goods B4 things get nuts...
That sucks, I have a 25 premium and have had no issues. I have had Toyota's starting with a new 72 FJ40 followed by a 4Runner and FJ Cruiser and never had any major drive line issues. I am currently getting 19-20 mpg city and 22-23 highway on stock tires. Once they ware out I will replace then with a more aggressive tire. Good luck.
I drive in the city most of the time and average 17.8 mpg and fill up every two weeks. But the last two weekends were spent traveling to marching band competitions. I usually put the vehicle in cruise control. During those trips I was getting upwards of 22 mpg’s.
Looks like that high gear #8 may be the ticket to high MPG?///
Live in Texas but I'm in Ouray Co right now. I've had a Dobinsons lift kit, Method wheels, & Falken Wildpeak tires installed. I've run Engineer Pass, Black Bear Pass, & several others with my 1st Edition LC performing perfectly. I ordered my LC before there were any in the US & had the first and only one in the five states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, & Mississippi. I say all this because I couldn't be more pleased with the way my LC has performed. Sorry to hear about the .001 failure rate. Just a bit more positive spin!
Bravo, that is the "Oh what a feeling" is all about. There will always be a small percent of failed products. However, with Toyota most feelings are plus...
Using my LC First Edition since August 2024...average MPG has been 23 (after break-in period), which includes highways, city, rural, mountain climbs (1,500 ft. to 8,000 ft. elevation climbs) and many rough, dirt roads (back mountain excursions). Best mileage so far: 31.5; this mileage was relatively flat with sections with slightly downslope roads.
Using the hybrid + gas systems with Adaptive Cruise Control works great here...the rolling resistance of the LC is amazingly low. Interestingly, I learned how the vehicle interacts with the Hybrid - Gas systems, which helped me learn how to use both together to maximize MPG...
