Method 708-HD Wheels

I'm considering replacing my OEM 18's that I have wrapped in my winter Nokian 275/70/18's when I take off my three season Method 703's wrapped with Falken WP AT4 255/80/17's. Is anyone out there running the 708-HD's? They're a little heavier than my 703's but the Nokian's are lighter than the Falken tires so it comes out basically as a wash. I'm very interested in the 318's but the sale on the 708's is really hard to overlook and I like having the piece of mind that comes with bead grips for when I air down. I will not be doing a ton of winter wheeling but I will be doing some and I will be airing down to the mid-teens.

0 offset is not a great imo unless you want tires that are close to stock size. These are not true beadlocks either, many aftermarket wheels built for SUVs/Trucks have similar knurling to retain tires at lower pressures.
My choice would be RAYS gramLIGHTS 57DR-X HD which (even though a cast construction) should be about 4 pounds lighter than the Methods (24#)


Bradley Vs have also been popular with Land Cruisers for many years because of their ability pass strength and durability tests (and are also about the same weight as the 57DR-X HD):

The Method 708s have the same Beadgrip design that your 703s have, and it does work great. Depending on the stiffness of your sidewall, you won’t have any issue keeping the bead set at any double-digit PSI. If you’re getting into single digits or doing fast driving with lots of lateral movement (dunes, snow drifts) you should definitely consider a wheel with an actual bead lock.

I wouldn’t recommend the 318s because they don’t have Beadgrip (none of the 3-series, their entry level line, does).
